Jones and Calzaghe are a cut above the lot of them.

yeah, seeing as how calzaghe has never fought and will never fight someone even close to ali. oh, and it's "could have" not "could of".

I seriously doubt that, you're talking about a Eubanks who's skill deteriorated after his fight with Watson. I mean the guy didn't want to knock out his opponents anymore, he had to hold back. At his prime Eubanks was a monster, he had greath ability and underrated power. In his fight against Watson Eubanks was trailing behind in all scorecards, than in the 11th round, BAM, threw that uppercut that sent Waston into a coma. Like I said Eubanks was merciless he in his prime he never had to hold back, a 35 year old Calzaghe can beat that Eubanks? I don't think so.

He has never fought the best fighters in his divison, let alone Ali. So how can you say Calzaghe is so great when his resume doesn't prove it? He's never even fought a calibur of James Toney in his prime or a Chris Eubanks in his prime.

Styles make fights, mate. It is possible Collins would give Joe a tussle while Roy would be easier. I certainly don't bet on it but it isn't improbable.

I think Joe would be a pick'em against Jones, Jr. a winner over McClellan (telegraphed his punches much like Lacy). And that Benn would give him the fight of his life.

Again, styles make fights, not who beat whom.

Benn gassed out in a lot of his fights even though im a big benn fan just watch the eubank, watson fights and more to the end of his career malinga, collins joe would of owned him, in the 2nd half of the fight. Benn would have to ko joe early and well no one has beat him so far so tuff fight for benn imo.

That's a joke right? Most of the Brits feared for Bruno when he stepped in with Tyson the second time and probably the first as well

Not sure if i'd say Jones is 'not that good', but i'd definitely given a guy like Michalczewski a shot against Roy, his performance against Hill was very impressive. A guy with Dariusz chin, punch, work rate and ability is definitely capable of pulling out a win.

Oh and Calzaghe is a damn good fighter, certainly 168 elite. You can imagine the way some of these guys would crucify Joe if he got a gift over someone like Tiberi, you'd never hear the bloody end of it.

I think they should have never created all these intermediate weight divisions to split up these fighters. I know some people have told me this was crazy but if you take out these new divisions and just had straight middleweight, welterweight, lightweight, heavyweight etc then we would have already seen if Calzaghe could do this because he would run into more challenging fights. I feel that the super middleweight/junior middleweight etc etc divisions help separate the good fighters from being able to fight each other delay good match ups from happening until one of the fighters either losses badly or goes past his prime and keeps boxers from getting exposed...it's more of a crutch. but I think Hopkins would make and ugly fight and probably get a SD victory. Jones would win and Toney unless he came out of shape....Toney was more suited to fight at this weight level than heavyweight IMO

Joe always seemed to rise to the occasion, can't say the same about Toney, dissapointing preparation for a lot of fights, especially for the fight of his life against Jones.

yea i agree and if Toney came sloppy he would lose because when he's outta shape Toney's own punches would throw him off-balance

I think it is definately a possibility. He is one of the greatest super-middleweights ever. I guess we will never know!
