I don't think the sensible ones claim it as a major victory. I personally wouldn't even make it a top 5 victory for Joe. It was still a good performance level from Joe, so I don't think we have any need to feel pathetic or upset with life.
jones didnt want to fight. tarver and trinidad hit harder than calzaghe ,jones traded punches with those for some reason not with calzaghe. dont know why
indeed. sadly the ******ed calzaghe fans which seem to be the majority these days have gone into overdrive today.
Thank you :good If anything they sould be saying what a shameful display last night, if I had to rank it next to fights that should not have happen , I would say this was worse then Holmes beating an Old Ali sinceless even Holemes himself said it was sad that he had to beat up a past Ali far from anything he was proud of .
Last night did nothing to boost or regress Calzaghe's reputation. He looked good, Jones looked crap. Calzaghe still has meritable wins over Hopkins and Kessler as well as an undefeated record against so-so's - none of the wins in particular announce him as a great fighter but the fact that he's never managed an off day or a style he cannot combat speaks of his ability.
This was just another money fight for Jones, almost everyone knew Jones was done since his ko loses years ago. I really don't know why some people were even giving Jones a chance at all, maybe they just hate Calzaghe who knows. I myself would have loved to see Calzaghe fight a real contender instead of Jones. But like I said, it's a money fight, and can't blame Calzaghe to pick an easy Big money fight, many fighters do the same nowdays.
Jones has been done since Tarver. No fight since proved that he still had enough to compete at the high level. It was clear that anyone with a high volume of punches and more energy would beat Roy. I was actually rooting for Jones last night because Joe waited until Roy had very little left in the tank and be able to add his name to his resume. As far as I am concerned this fight proved nothing, Calzaghe, although very good, is still lacking in resume, and Roy is past it.
First, please get rid of your disgusting avatar. You like dogs tied up? What's so macho about it? C'mon, grow up!
Normally the stuff you post is honest and sensible. I'll just assume your really pissed at the moment because a great fighter took a battering at the end of his career. Thats allways sad to watch. Whilst there have been some silly posts saying Joe'd beat a prime Jones the majority of the posts have anti Calzaghe.
