everyone knows Kessler has one of the best jabs in the business. Simply that against a southpaw the jab is not as effective, and especially one as good as Calzaghe.

 

The two Johnsons alone should basically make every Calzaghe fan shut the **** up - Tarver fought him twice, Calzaghe ducked him twice.

 

Oh just wait - if Jones beats Trinidad and Calzaghe beats Hopkins and the fight with Jones is made, Jones will all of a sudden become prime again, it'll be a miracle of water into wine proportions :nut

The difference between some of these Joe C fans and the Mayweather idiots is the Joe C fans HYPE his opponents as excellet, while the Mayweather morons just tear any opponent of his to the level of bum. Kessler is a damn good SpMW. But even he's already been hyped to the lebvel of ATG by these guys.

 

I agree....and I don't really blame Joe for not going for multiple weight belts like Floyd did to be honest - Joe can't get down to 160 in a million years and for most of his career there were nightmares waiting at 175 so he wasn't doing that :yep . The very least he should have done though is unify his own division - YEARS ago. If he'd done that then I certainly wouldn't give him so much abuse but he fought absolute garbage for years and all of a sudden at age 35 decides it's time to step up the competition? Bull****.

 

I do agree with that. Rather then toiling @ 168 in a WEAK division he should have moved up where there was more money.

Certainly he could have tried Darius M @ 175, seeing as BOTH guys held WBO straps. Could have made a lot of money by moving up tp face Clinton Woods (which we're still teased with on occasion).

There were fights to be made, but he would rather stay @ 168. Gotta play the cards you got.

 

Exactly. The fact that Joe keeps talking about Clinton Woods rather than just getting on with it and fighting him and getting a step on the ladder at 175 tells you all you need to know. I remember the Jones V Woods fight, do you? :deal

Calzaghe and his fans hide behind the fact that he was in a weak division and there were no 'real' challenges out there at 168....that argument does hold water but Calzaghe absolutely kills himself to make 168, he could fight 175 EASILY but chooses not to do so. As I said in the previous post there's nightmares at 175 and Joe wanted no part of them - until now. I wonder why :huh
