When you look back you really appreciate how good of a fighter he was and why he was champion my opinion i think he can clean out the whole super middleweight division today if he could still make the weight theres a typo in wales its spelled whales in the vid so just letting yall know enjoy feedback would b appreciated [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLkPC3wcR_w&hd=1[/ame]
Great fighter... excellent volume puncher that could adapt to almost any style. Criminally underappreciated I think.
Maybe if he left the comfort of his home chair, we'd have a different opinion. In the meantime, we'll save our appreciation for the likes of Froch :good
This quote here, shows just how ignorant you are. Calzaghe fought away more times than G Johnson who is called the road warrior. But still who was Calzaghe meant to have fought away to? He was the champ and man of the division, so to who? Jones and Hopkins werent interested. You are another who just has to accept that he beat everyone he fought
he wasnt interested in jones until he was shot same with hopkins jones and calzaghe almost fought in before roy went to light heavy and the time calslappys promoters said he wasnt ready for jones and if he came back today he wouldnt win the super six
Calzaghe fought outside the UK 4 times. Johnson has never fought in his home country Jamaica, but even if you count the US as his home he'a fought outside the US 8 times.
Great champion & VERY underrated power. People forget that he could hit it's just that those hand injuries prevented him from doing so past his prime so that's why he'd "slap". He definitely didn't "slap" Lacy. Very underappreciated but I think Froch will surpass him if he keeps it up. I take nothing away from Calzaghe though and thanks for the video.
True - he fought Reid i England too and fans were booing big time. But when was the third time he fough outside the UK? Veit, Hopkins, Jones and??
