Almost every boxer spout BS. Some can back it up, and we have been through this before - Pavlik would get schooled by Calzaghe. He is doing him a favor. It's highly doubtful that the Ghost gets past Hopkins - but I hope he does - Boxing needs the Pavliks of the world to generate interest in the sport. And he hasn't ducked anyone thus far - unless he don't want to face AA.

I don't enjoy trash talk, I find it stupid, but I know it's the name of the game... It's a macho sport.

Do I really have to translate for you? Really didn't take you for an unintelligent person until now.

Calzaghe feels he is old. I feel he is prime... Since Calzaghe feel he is old and only have a few more fights in him - I find it okay that he only goes for the money.

Calzaghe may be doing Pavlik a favor by ducking him, but it isn't the one you think. :deal

He trash talk him to build himself up. Then the fight was made - what is he gonna say? "Yes, RJJ is a bum now - dont pay to watch the fight". It's another money fight for him.

Contrary to general beliefs I only care for what he does in the ring - much like any other boxer.

Did you have such a huge problem with young man Kessler facing "old man" Calzaghe only 8 months ago?

Well the Roy comment is a bit more extreme than the Pavlik comment, as he is basically saying Roy is shot to ****, in nicer words. Whereas the Pavlik comment is basically saying he would be a better fight after a few more wins (probably more financially based than anything). Pavlik could definitely improve but he is 'ready' enough, i'd say the Pavlik comment was just to try and cull a bit of the hype for a fight between the two, so Joe didn't look as bad when he chose Roy. Though i think Joe would outbox Pavlik, but the fight has to happen soon or not at all as old Joe isn't getting any younger.

No - why would I? Can you not read either? I wouldnt have a problem Pavlik facing Hopkins or vice versa. But I wouldn't blame an old man for going for the money instead of the most difficult fight. Understand now - or do you need to have it carved out of wood?

Well that is your prerogative. When that "old man" as you call him has a history of doing this sort of thing, I don't see how you can make such a fuss when people question it.

Don't make me have to bring up quotes of a young Joe stating he only wants easy money fights, and that prime Roy Jones would be too hard a fight - or words to that affect.

Personally I don't have to much problem with him taking a money fight at his age - but I can see why people would question that, particularly as he's a p4p no 2, and a Marque name in the sport. Also with the stuff Joe's been coming out with of late he's sort of made a rod for his own back. All people are doing is agreeing with what Joe himself was saying for a long time, and just a few months back.

It seems to me that whatever Joe says, however many U turns he makes, you simply agree with what he says.

    What fuss am I making?

You can pull up all you want on Calzaghe - why would I care what he stated in his youth? I like him as a boxer, and that is as far as it goes.

If you ask me, he should fight Kessler in Denmark or fight a legitimate threat, but if he wants to have the big money fights before he rides off into the sunset I don't blame him - had he been 30 years old it would have been different - he is 36, and even if I think he is prime now, and still would beat anyone from 160-175 - its his choice to do the easier fights. So where do we disagree?

Is it that I dont think that Pavlik is a legitimate threat to him?
