I see where you're coming from chief, and I've been known to ramble when I'm tired so that's not a surprise. Nothing personal :thumbsup

You strain to understand what he says? His post is a lot more concise than your gobbledegook, that's for sure!

Boxing isn't dying. Maybe the commericial aspects will, but for us little guys boxing will always survive.

Calzaghe is just mad that few bought his PPV fight. Boxing is not dying, just Calzaghe's career. Either fight some more appealing fights or retire and stop whining.

Maybe. Where else could he be coming from with this? He's always randomly come out with **** talk but this is odd.

He fought good guys but somehow Hopkins and Jones might be more of a problem than Calzaghe. We have seen them for years and the public knows them and knows they are (and were) good but time for a new bunch of good fighters. Where are they? Where are our Ali,Foreman,Frazier, and Hagler,Hearns,Leonard,Durans? Takes a long time to develop a group like that, but it can be done. Actually the Pacman,Barrera,Morales group has been entertaining, but the problem is when the weight is that low you sometimes do not have one punch knockouts which excite the public.

Calzaghe is one of the reason boxing is a dying sport.
He fought 12 years one bum of another in a couple of mismatches and ducked the big opponents when they were in their prime.

Exactly. In a 10 year span he fought Eubank an old man and Lacy a green prospect. In his final years he cashed in his chips and now has the brazen audacity to complain? Honestly the mans a monumental idiot without a shred of credibility. For a decade he hid behind the WBO and now has cheek to come out with this crap.. Glad guys are finally seeing him for the leech that he was.

    Calzaghe: Boxing is dying!
Despite the fact that the Manny Pacquiao-Oscar De La Hoya fight generated 1.25 million pay-per-view buys, light heavyweight superstar Joe Calzaghe says the sweet science is nearing a ten count. "I think boxing is a dying sport," Calzaghe told PA Sport. "Globally - in America for instance - you've got UFC, which has taken a lot off boxing business-wise. There is too much politics in boxing. Too many belts and too many champions, which dilutes real champions like myself. There are four world champions in each division and it's bad because there are no stars any more. It's a big problem." Calzaghe still has not made a decision as to whether or not he will fight again, but he did say, "I'm glad I'm ending my career and not starting it because I don't think it's going to be that great in the future." The paltry numbers from Calzaghe's self-promoted PPV clash with Roy Jones Jr. may have contributed to Joe's gloomy analysis. That bout generated about 225,000 buys, far below expectations.

thats the same article but from fightnews.com and the relevant part to take note of is this bit from the bottom...

The paltry numbers from Calzaghe's self-promoted PPV clash with Roy Jones Jr. may have contributed to Joe's gloomy analysis. That bout generated about 225,000 buys, far below expectations.

when you realise that Pac V Hoya just sold over 1.25 million PPV buys JC must be upset over that!!!

Exactly. He wasnt moaning about the titles when he had a WBO title defending against Europeans who nobody gave a damn about.
