he was right hed be too busy and his tenacity would be too much for Ward who likes to boss centre ring and on the inside he wouldnt be able to bully calzaghe its impossible to bully calzaghe
Old video I think. Younger Joe Calzaghe would of beat Ward. Older Joe Calzaghe should shut up and enjoy retirement.
I think what he meant to say was that he would beat Andre Ward....off in the shower. He surely can't be inferring to winning a fight against him? Well, unless its the drugs talking.
Prime Calzaghe would have beat Ward to a competitive but clear decision imo, 117-111 sort of range. Too much stamina, great control of distance and Joe's high punch variety on the inside would have been too much for Ward. However Ward might get better so I think we will all be able to make a better informed decision on this may'be a year or two down the line.
you americans forget that famous night in april 2006 when he took apart the second coming of mike tyson in manchester.
Calzaghe may well win but let's remember Joe arguably lost to a 43yo Hopkins and Reid. Neither has fought a man as good as the other and it'd be some match up and very tactical.
He got knocked down in the first then cleared his head and easily one the fight hopkins done his typical rolling around on the floor once calzaghe got on top knowing that he was on the verge of being stopped.
The same senior citizen who is still arguably the best light heavyweight today  Besides no one has given Hopkins as much trouble as Joe did, how many times was he on the canvas trying to catch his breath again?
