It must be fun talking about who you can beat while retired. But when you were active you pretty much fought like 3 good fighters. And the only fighter close to Ward's style was a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins who you had trouble with. Ward's resume at 28 years old>Calzaghe's entire resume.
If you want to be generous you can call it comparable. Ward needs to take on Bute, not to mention the Dirrell brothers before you can suggest he is surpassning.
I personally don't see it. Joe threw wide punches without much power behind them. Ward is much more technically sound. Andre would be faced with a higher workrate than he has ever faced, but unless there is a ref like in the Zags/Manfredo fight, there's no way Joe stops him. Straight punches beat loopy shots. Ward UD 12.
I would have loved to have seen it. I think old Hopkins was better than Ward in nearly every department including cheating, so I don't think Ward would have won, but it would have been great to see.
Joe is garbage...biggest win over BHOP past his prime. Nothing much beyond that. LMFAO at how he looks at his win over Roy Jones Jr.
Some of you really underrate Joe, yeah his resume left alot to be asked for, but you can't deny he was incredibly busy, I'd love to see it and it's impossible to predict.
Calzaghe would beat the crap out of SOB Ward................However, Ward would refuse to fight him as he had refused to fight Bute..................
of course you would joe...he is on the same level as the two 40 something year old names you fought ...such a Legend Slayer you are
