Ward relies on speed, reflexes and confusing the distance. Charges in with a few shots and then hold. That way he controles the fight.

I think a prime Calzaghe is equal in speed and reflexes, perhaps a little bit better. And I believe the way he sticks to his opponent like glue and never give them any chance to rest would have a fair chance to disrupt Wards in and out tactic. I also believe Ward would have been surprised if he tried to rough Calzaghe up, because Calzaghe is not above hitting and holding and stuff like that.

Close one, but I think JC would have been able to snatch away the decision. Not in Oakland though.

I rate Ward as equal to JC in most ways, and think he might eclipse him. But you need to understand that the opponents Ward has been figthing and will be fighting is no better than what is already on JC's resume.

I agree that Calzaghe`s speed & volume would stop Ward from being at his best, stylewise its a fight I`d fancy Joe to win.... some people (choose to ? :think) forget just how great a fighter Calzaghe was, his ability & awkward style is trouble for any fighter whoever fought from 168 downwards.

Despite the countless of threads where you little pikey ass got owned.
You must be a bit of a sado-masochist.

Go on, just post a picture of a timeout bar and log off.....:patsch:patsch

Your boxing knowledge is sub par, and your intellect even worse.:deal:smoke

 We both know the only person that's been owned here is you, about 20 times over the last few weeks, in fact. Usually you just stop responding to me and skulk away. I'm surprised you even commented on this.

Useless threads, useless comments, you're just useless in general.

But don't let me stop you from posting about Mayweather being raped in jail or contracting AIDS and all that other horse**** you've been posting today. It's in keeping with your level of posting in general. :hi:

And you have the nerve to mention 'Boxing knowledge'. GTFO you joker.

It just amazes me on the similarity between Bute fans and Calzaghe fans. Although, in Bute's defense, he actually is a decent fighter with a big punch.

Let's wait and see how Ward fights when he is into his mid and late 30s. I hate these debates because Ward is at his peak right now and naturally will get more publicity for that.

Joes stamina is ridiculous. But I am not sure Ward could be outworked like that. He ties Joe up if he feels the need for a breather.

Well again I guess it would boil down towher eit wouldbe held and if the rules are enforced.

Myself if Ward had been substituted for Dirrell v Froch in the UK, Icoul dsee teh ref and judges doing their thing and taking points from Ward and giving hte fight to Froch.

Just as if Dirrell v Frochwere in the US, Dirrell woul dhave the W.

Back to Joe v Ward. UK ref would not let Ward fight the way he would want to. Forced to stand and fight, Joe wins.
