I think you're all being a bit premature with the "Calzaghe is ducking Pavlik" comments.

Let's just wait and see what happens because as we all know there are many politics involved in boxing.

I still believe this fight will come off.

calzaghe's quoted on fightnews as saying that he wants jones over pavlik.

fightnews are a good source, not rumour mongers.

Lets keep our fingers crossed, it would be a barn burner. It has the potential to be this generations Hagler V Hearns in my opinion (in terms of excitment in the ring).

Well-said. But people shouldn't rush to annoint Pavlik the dominate figher of his era just yet. Let's see how he fares against Kessler, Bute and whoever else. No matter how uneven Calzaghe's resume may be, the guy just wins and wins, even when he isn't supposed to. Let's see if Pavlik can match that level of accomplishment over the long haul. Yet to be determined.

I agree, way to early, I was just responding to the "level of competition" some people keep referring to. I think Calzaghe is current P4P 1 or 2, but only recently did he achieve that status.

Why is he scared of him, while Pavlik did the same thing Cotto did and not call out the person most fans want him to see. But they always say whoever my promoter puts in front of me. But a fight with Jones would make way more money and will be a sellout. I yall dont understand that, yall have problems

Only if Joe realizes he is pissing off his fans, but does that even matter at this point?

Who the **** cares if Calzaghe want's a gimme for his last fight...he's had a good career and beating young lions doesn't seem to get him much credit with the benefit of hindsight...

This one might be the worst of all actually...I can just hear the revisionist's now...'blown up MW'

Probably best not to make that point if you're ever actually in Wales...

You do realise that Wales and England are 2 different countries right? :patsch

And Calzaghe has suffered VERY hostile atmospheres fighting in England, even being spat at in one particular fight.

If Pavlik achieves half of what Calzaghe has in his life time then he'll be a lucky man. Jack Loew should stick to paving drive ways.

This fight is gonna happen. Too much money at stake for Joe and Warren to walk away. All Joe's doubters are saying he dosen't have balls and is only in it for easy moeny and not respect. Well if that's the case, why won't he take a fight with Pavlik for big money and win or lose he walks away with a bucketful of money and as much respect as he craves?

    It'll happen.

Not one Pavlik fanboy has responded to the 1st page suggestion of Pavlik fighting Wright, Kessler or Bute..........................Is the fact that maybe its a nice little attention seeking ploy to rag on Calzaghe, knowing he has no intrest in fighting Pavlik. Plus the fact Pavlik may not win any of those fights.
