I think ATGreatness should be ranked primarily based on the quality of oppositions. We all know that the boxing proving ground is in America as there are more quality opponents there than anywhere else in the world. As Joe didn't fight in America until later in his career, it is absurd for anybody to claim that he is GOAT.

You mentioned Ali, no need to read anymore. You have him beating a HW of Ali's caliber, you are getting way out of control. I'm not one to say All-time greats can't be defeated by modern fighters, but this is outrageous. He defeated a fading Hopkins and Jones at best. His stamina is incredible, but there is no way he beats all of those guys. You said CAL has an iron chin he was knocked down by a faded RJJ. Surely those guys you mentioned ALI in his prime would have KO'ed him.

Calzaghe would eat all the Super Six for breakfast. Let me break these fights down:

    Kessler- Calzaghe schooled prime Kes.

Froch - Slow plodder who was schooled by shot Kes.

Ward - Calzaghe had a superb inside game. See the Lacy masterpiece. Ward wouldn't have the answer, and if the Welsh ABA actually let Calzaghe go to the Olympics, he too would have been a gold medalist.

Abraham - Easy meat. Would barely land a punch.

Dirrell - Actually the toughest fight, but Calzaghe would have smothered him and found that suspect Chin.

    Green - :lol::lol::lol::rofl:rofl:rofl:patsch:patsch

I'm not going to read this thread but i'm sure it started out with "calzaghe is the goat slap queen" in that case I agree.

If this thread had nothing to do with slaps, then no... he is not the goat.

Good luck trying to convince people with this one because your gonna need it. Hell, if Calzaghe believe he's the greatest he's gonna need it to.

Yes, a undefeated world champion. I would have Gene Tunney 2nd.

Your a total idiot pal. If you seen a prime Calzaghe, you would see him a a good puncher and not a 'slapper'.

Convince people? Hes just stating the fact, there is no convincingation there.

calzaghe first offered the fight to pavlik after he beat taylor, but he turned
round and said that he wasn't ready for the fight yet.

fast forward to after the kessler fight where calzaghe and hopkins are in
early negotiations....thats the first time pavlik(jack leow)calls out joe,
saying why do you want to fight an old man, come and fight me instead.
joe wasn't going to pull out of a much bigger fight with hopkins to take
on the young gun now,was he.(there was alot of people that wanted
joe to take on pavlik instead of hopkins at the time)

after hopkins, joe was going to have just one more fight(he was 37 years old)and that was gonna be either pavlik or jones jr.frank warren wanted
joe to take on the pavlik fight as this would of done more for his legacy,
but joe wanted the jones fight as it would bring in 4 times more money.

anyone who thinks joe had a load of money in the bank would be wrong.
he only got paid the good money with his last few fights.plus,he had to
    pay a **** load to his ex-wife after the divorce.also,warren hadn't paid
joe for the hopkins fight(thats why he left him and took him to court)so
joe was looking for the biggest purse he could get and sail off into
the sunset after all the hard work he's put in over the years...and that
purse was to come from the jones fight,so he took it.
from a fans view,we would of liked him to take the tougher fight with
pavlik(on paper anyway) instead of the past prime jones....but hey.

anyone in joe's place would of done the same....he did what was best
for him,and rightfully so.anyone criticizing him for the choice he made,
is doing so for selfish reasons.:good
