Ever so slightly cheated. Leaving it this late to fight Jones is not the sort of fight to be retiring on.

"Lacying" Froch would have been far more satisfying.

I don't think will be his last fight.

It's not really dawned on me yet. I don't know whether its I don't believe it or I refuse to believe it.

I'm finding it hard to see him just retire as well, but facts are fact - he says he is, and he's cracking on - he loves that 0 as well.

I think if he loses, he will fight again, imho, but a win spells the end!

The only thing that can change is perhaps a fight in what he sees as an easy bigish money farewell fight in Cardiff against Froch...

I can't see him fighting Dawson, or rematching Bernard (which is perhaps fair enough)... those are the only other fights out there really....

The bottom line is that he's more then likely retiring forever Saturday.

Calzaghe vs Froch at the Millenium Stadium in front of 65,000 would be a fitting end to Calzaghe's Careers, it would be a massive spectacle, probably for us brits more of a spectacle than the Roy Jones fight! especially seeing Froch will be in his peak and also an undefeated fighter, presuming he beats Pascal which i think he will.

A guy who refused to face fighters in their primes. Way too protected. A step in class below floyd.

Joe is beggining to realise he's overplayed the 'retirement' thing as this defnitely isn't his last fight. It's the same tactic as Mayweather is using to get even more $$$$$$$ for inevitably coming out of 'retirement'. To be fair to Floyd though he didn't hype it as his last fight so much and just left....... for the time being of course

IF its his last fight then I will miss him, a class act that will be missed.
But I don't actually believe this will be his LAST. Many $$$'s flying around him at the moment. He will fight at least once more after RJJ.
I hope its against Froch (which was mentioned earlier). He would easily outpoint and outclass Froch.
    ;)

I don't believe he's really retiring either - I was sure that if Pavlik beat Hopkins, Calzaghe and he would have fought next year. That's obviously a no-goer now that Hopkins shut Pavlik out, but it still suggests (to me at any rate) that Calzaghe will still fight at least once more.

    Who I don't know.

As with many fighters, Lennox Lewis for example, Joe will be missed if this is his last fight. He will leave a void similar to that of Lewis if he chooses to hang up his gloves. I think he should as he has nothing more to prove and he can let his accomplishments sit in the minds of the doubters. Calzaghe isn't for everyone, but there is no doubting what he has achieved in his career.
