Tua would beat Marciano, undisputed fact - and we're supposed to rate Marciano?

What does Tua losing to Marciano have to do with Slappy butchering Charles?

    People, people.

When dealing with PugilisticPower, bear in mind that you are dealing with someone so riddled with insane stupidity that he once made a thread called:

"Amir Khan would beat Sugar Ray Robinson"... :scaredas:

Here are my well-documented thoughts on this notoriously epic ****wit:

Are you not the same poster that suggested there was a "clear winner" in the Calzaghe vs Hopkins fight? :huh

Ironicly enough, Floyd is one of those who acknowledged how good Calzaghe was. As did Hopkins a bit after their fight. The reason to why Floyd and Hopkins disagree with their own fans is that they are boxing genious, while their fans are emotional based in their views, as Popkins here above.

If you compare Floyds best wins with Calzaghes best wins it gets tricky. Calzaghe won against Hopkins, and that is a bigger name then anyone Floyd ever thought about facing. But Hopkins had slowed down at that age, and the fight was close. Then we have Calzaghes win over Eubank. Despite the nonsense about Eubank beeing shot (at 31 ), and suffering from weight loss (while fighting at the weight he had had spent much of his career :nut), and so on and so forth, this win pretty much equals anything Floyd did. Calzaghes win over Kessler, who held two belt at that time, can handsomly be traded for any of the champs Floyd did in.

While both dominated for a long time, Floyd fought more tough opponents in general and defeated then in a more dominating fashion. For this reason I think he could be rated above Calzaghe. But it is a close call.

there's 2 huge things that separate the men from the boys in boxing

    fighting in adversity
being able to adapt during fights

everything is rosy for a fighter when they are ahead in fights but its only when a fighter is in trouble that you get to see what that boxer is really made of. some fighters fold when faced with adveristy like roy jones, jermain taylor, or zab judah, but fighters like joe calzaghe stare defeat in the eye and come out of the other side, when faced with adversity, they take the bull by the horns and rise to the challenge. look at everytime calzaghe has been knocked down - mitchell, sheika, hopkins, jones, and look at the way calzaghe responded, he didn't get up and hold on for dear life, time waste, and deliberatly foul, he got up and had a ****in tear up and took the fight straight back to the opposition. when faced with that type of adversity, some fighter sink, but the real greats swim.

the other great strength is being able to adapt in the ring. everyone knows calzaghe had to change his style because of persistant hand trouble. when plan A isn't working, most fighters don't have a plan B, checkout the likes of roy jones, or checkout the 8 fights that bernard hopkins had that he wasn't good enough to win - they couldn't find a plan B. calzaghe could adapt his style, check out the come forward slugging style that was used to knock the **** out of eubank, check the on your toes, clever footwork and boxing style v lacy. look how calzaghe still found a way to win versus reid despite ****ing his hand up in round 4, look how calzaghe changed to plan B mid-way through the kessler fight, check out how calzaghe was able to work hopkins out after an early points deficit - the truly great fighters find a way to win no matter what style of fighter they are facing and they do that because they can adapt mid-fight and because they can step their game up when faced with adversity. calzaghe was a master of both.

Floyd mayweather has the same gifts, he can fight going backwards, he can fight coming forwards, floyd finds a way to win because he can work out his opponents and when the questions get asked of him (mosley, odly, judah etc) floyd can fight in adversity and rise to the challenge.

floyd mayweather is the greater of the 2 but there are similarities in both, there is simply no blueprint to beat either of them.

Can I use this excuse when Ward schools Froch and beat up Kessler a second time? They are both past 31 and have been in wars. Hell, Froch is already 35. Soon he can labeled as "Roy Jones"-shot, which means he can get KO'd without it proves a **** :silly

Again its only about years, what is year limit to be shot or not even close to prime?? for you it doesnt have annything to do with fights it just age thing no matter how many hard fights you have it means nothing if you not 40, just learn your boxing hard fights take more away than just age factor...Joe didnt fight 3 really good fighters in their prime so he retired with no problems apart from hands, king of bums!!! Pleas tell me where you have Joe on atg list?

It has to be calzaghe. He destroyed a near prime Jones. It was so bad that jones has never been the same! he then embarrased a prime Hopkins by humping and outboxing him for 12 rounds!
