The shot version of Jones that had already been ko'd YEARS before by Glen Johnson and Antonio Tarver and couldn't even ko shot to **** Tito Trinidad who was fighting 23 pounds above his prime weight? The shot version of Jones that Joe himself admitted was shot in his own autobiography YEARS before they fought? It's debatable who is better p4p-Mayweather or Calzaghe, but including Joes's victory over shot to **** Jones in your argument does nothing for your credibility but bring it down.

Floyd has a better resume than Joe.

Undefeated doesn't count for much with the ATGs. The best fighters in history have all lost.

    joe, and this is why.
calzaghe beat everyone there was to beat, he had his big fights with lacy, kessler, hopkins and jones, although jones was not the fighter he once was.
he retired because they were just no appealing challenge's left, joe cleaned up.
mayweather on the other hand, claims to be the greatest fighter of all time, but he's not yet proved he's the greatest fighter in his weight division today.
as long as floyd does'nt have pacquiao on his record, then his standing as an all time great is diminished.
to sum it up, joe proved he was the best by fighting his rival's and beating all of them.
floyd wants to prove he's the best by talking about how he could beat his rival (pacquiao), rather than actually getting in the ring and beating him.

Com'on Clinton, we on this little isle take everything said as truth by U.S media, it's the only access we have to the verball's stateside, he was IBF champ & going into a unification with Joe & Lacy was a bolt-on favorite too win with the bookies. We get the impression over here that you dar'nt **** up even once in Planet America as you are then cast down from a great height into the abyss & ridicule. We are a very trusting you know, we're always being told & hearing that if it's american then it's the BEST:yep until a loss that is:smoke

Joe Calzaghe retired undefeated as a result of spending the majority of his career fighting sub-standard opposition. I struggle to conjure up anything positive about the Welshman. I set my mind back to all of those times I would watch him wing shots at his opponents like a washerwoman. A very good fighter, but he would honestly struggle to dominate the current crop of Super Middleweights.

Floyd Mayweather Jr, and by quite a distance.

:lol:Lacy was the bettors' favorite in the UK to win that fight???I've no idea who the odds on favorite to win it was,as I'm not much of a wagerer."Planet America","abyss and ridicule".Your tongue in cheek is truly full of hyperbole:lol:.Having written that, neither myself, nor one boxing fan that I personally know, knew anything about Lacy before that fight. In fact, before that fight,I'd never heard of him.

He convincingly beat the best version of Kessler.I'm not a Calzaghe fan because he's a liar, but I'm convinced he'd beat every member of the current crop of supermiddleweights.

Calzaghe's probably has the best win (vs Hopkins), but top to bottom, Floyd's got a far deeper resume and gains a higher placement as a result.

The problem with resumes that don;t have career defining wins is that it is open for debate.

Joe Calzaghe probably have Hopkins because Hopkins is stiill kicking ass after his loss to Calzaghe.

What about Gayweather? Who excatly did he fight that you can say the same. Most of his opponents are very good fighters but not exactly ATG materials. The closest would be Hoya or Mosley or JMM but they are already at the tailend of their careers when he fought them.

Overall, it would still be Gayweather. But had his resume been more stacked, debates like this would not even be considered.

For example, if Gayweather had Cotto, Margarito, williams (the retirement period fighters) in his resume, it would be idiotic to be even debating about who is ranked higher.

Lacy was the worldwide betting favourite... Think of the **** Calzaghes resume gets now, and imagine how much it was picked apart before he even fought Lacy.
