im the bigges calzaghe and marciano fan but its not even close marciano by a landslide he was almost a t a disadvatage in all his fights being undersized, akward ,not as fast ,less talented . he had natural power and trianed like no one else .

    marciano hands down

but joe is great aswell for his respective weigh class

Joe may have had more title defenses, but his most notable fights were against over the hill or over hyped fighters (maybe not Kessler). Although defeating Hopkins, destroying Lacy, roughing up Eubank, whooping Jones Jr., and outboxing Kessler are impressive - anyone who's a knockout fan will be more impressed by KO's over Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles, Roland LaStarza, Archie Moore, and Jersey Joe Walcott. Plus we tend to look at the fighters of the past in a greater light due to achievement over time.

Excellent point. Marciano wasn't very gifted for the heavyweight division, and had to overcome. His rematch with Ezzard Charles is also important to note because of the fight almost being stopped, yet Rocky was able to come on top with a KO.

Rocky, but not by a land slide. Joe's Legacy is pretty damn impressive but Marciano's is a bit fuller.

The rock. Much respect but lets not get nostalgic. You talk about Joe fighting over the hill fighters look at the Rock title fights come on. Just cos it was long ago dont make it right. But only american fighters are great yeah
