Noone has a lock on #1 right now. I have PBF holding that spot by a thread but will not argue with anyone who places Clazaghe in front of him.
there isn't much. Joe landed 4-5 clean and fairly hard straight lefts all fight, and that was about it. He won that fight on work rate, wich on my card was enough.
Bernard Hopkins ranking stays, while Joe Calzaghe moves up. Joe Calzaghe probably surpasses Cotto, Mayweather, but probably not enough to surpass Pacquiao as no.1 p4p.
A win is a win. Against Nard it isn't going to be pretty. Joe took the slapping to a whole new level tonight though in order to land something on B-Hop
Joe is still at #2 or maybe 3 no way does he move ahead of PBF and if Cotto can dominate Margario I will put him at 2.
Calzaghe was already above Cotto; and if you think this fight puts him above Mayweather, then its not even worth my time arguing. How could Hops not elevate after this fight, considering most people now thought he was WELL outside the top ten p4p; and lost a close decision to a top FIVE p4per? If anything; Joe stays - Hops rises.
Had he won the fight convincingly, then I would say yes, but I thought he lost to a 43 year old Hopkins, who only improved his legacy with this fight.
I had Hopkins in my P4P twenty before the fight. Calzaghe was in my top-5. I think this fight did little but cement their legacies. no surprises- Calzaghe punched in numbers, Hopkins lands one good on at a time periodically. 1. Mayweather 2. Pacquiao And so forth.:bbb
