I've had this debate so many times on here in the past, and I don't want to get into again, because last time it was exhausting. But I just want to make two quick points.

1. Roy had a lot critics when he was on top, and he represented a lot of organisations.

He represented the WBA, the WBC, the IBF, HBO, Nke, and he fought in New York, under the New York State Athletic Commission.

My opinion is, if they'd have been anything concrete in it, various people would have jumped on Roy.

But they never did. He fought on HBO over 20 times. I find it hard to believe that all of those people and organisations that he represented, and was associated with, all simply turned a blind eye, and swept everything under the carpet.

We've just seen what's happened with Lance, and Nike and various other Companies dropping him.

So I think it's odd, how everything just fizzled out, and thre wasn't more of in depth investigation etc.



2. A lot of people on here think that he was roiding all of his career until he finally got caught out against Hall in 2000. The same people then say, that's how he eventually started to lose, because he hadn't been roiding and he wasn't the same guy after.

His first loss after 2000, was in May 2004 against Tarver.

So if he was that dependent on his Superman pills that Coach Merk bought from Christopher Reeve's, how did he beat Harding, Gonzalez, Woods, Ruiz at heavy, and then Tarve,r having dropped from 200 pounds back to 175? He didn't do bad without them did he?

When he finally lost to Tarver, he was 35 years old, he'd had 50 fights, and he'd been a pro since 1989.

So to all the people who think that Roy wasn't the same after Hall, how did he beat the fighters I've mentioned?

The double standards on here are laughable.

For example, Bailey gives a lot of credit to Eubank, for fighting Carl Thompson at Cruiser at 32 years of age. He thinks that was great, and I agree with him.

However, he doesn't give Roy any credit whatsoever for going up to heavy at 34 and embarrassing Ruiz.

Eubank lost both fights - gets praised.

Roy embarrassed Ruiz - gets no praise.


Roy was always going to lose at some point, if he carried on fighting.

Who said I was a groupie, but I can respect the opinion of other forum posters. All we were really arguing is whether Roy used steroids or not in this thread. If he ever knowingly put it into his body and it's almost certain that he did then he was still dishonest even if it wasn't solely responsible for turning him from a nobody to superman
