You truly are ignorant not understanding the animosity between the countries. Although to be fair you wouldn't know, due to being American. However, don't comment on things that you're clearly ignorant on. Odds are the US fighter gets a better reception in a Canada than an Englishman/Welshman gets in Scotland. You shouldn't speak on stuff you're clearly uneducated on
i'm not discrediting calzaghe at SMW - anyone who does just has a vendetta against him but calzaghe never got recognition overseas because his campaign never impacted the US, and he had a long, long time to change that - but never did
So now the political entity and union of the United Kingdom that has a single government is no longer a country because of what? Some fans not liking each other. :rofl Fail. Or is the State of Alabama two separate political entities every time their two biggest Universities play Football. The fans there don't like each other at all, hell people have died over the results of that game.
The linear championship is a concept which doesn't really work very well in practice. Jones vs This content is protected Jones proved he was the better fighter by beating common opponents in a more dominant fashion This content is protected vs Holmes Ali was shot and had no business in the ring Tyson vs This content is protected Tyson was widely considered to be the man after his dominant win over Berbick. He of course would go on to prove it by destroying spinks in 50s Holyfield vs This content is protected Holyfield had already beaten foreman Was fighting better level of competition Dawson vs This content is protected Dawson beat Tarverx2, Johnsonx2, Adamek, while Erdei fought a string of nobodies On top of this you also have the journeymen that picked up the belt like:B.Douglas, Leon Spinks, Gonzalez, Rahman, McCall It fails as much as it works
Nope its a separate country now. :rofl Joe Calzaghe is a ****ing immigrant. Did he get his citizenship yet?
I don't know what you mean by works. A lineal champion is a lineal champion as in the man that beat the man that beat the man etc. It was never meant to be the perceived best fighter. Otherwise Charley Burley might have been champ and Carlos Baldomir would have never been. It is what it is.
You do have a point, and I agree it would have been awesome if Joe had headed over to the states earlier in his career instead of in his swansong like cleverly has done. However, Joe was making great money in Wales and that's what he was after. You have to remember that there weren't many active American SMW's that were a contender at the time with RJJ at LHW/HW and Bhop at MW who refused a career high payday to fight Joe in the states. SMW was more european but like I said I would've liked few marquee fights in the states even if they were just profile builders
And how many times did Calzaghe fight in England? Almost as many as in Wales. Are you seriously suggesting that they are all one country? Just because they collaborate as a political union doesn't make them any less individual. They all have individual cultures and dialects although English is primarily used as it is across half of the world. You shouldn't trivialise fan power and hatred. Plently more fans have died over sports events in England, Scotland and Wales then in America. Remember Scotland and Wales both have a parliament voted for in Scotland and Wales. They're separate nations hence the separate football teams (real football that is), each having their own currency although these are interchangeable. It is only on a macro scale that they can be seen as one and even this is a stupid and ignorant view (i.e. yours). On a micro scale they are still seperate. deal:deal You should stop trying to look even more stupid than you already do. deal:deal
Ignore the disingenuous trolls money, though I have enjoyed reading your posts in this thread, dino and atlanta were dismantled:deal
