Whichever way you look at it champ or not, he beat the man who was considered the best and #1 LHW and after he beat that fighter, tha fighter became champ, so its all good
No lets not look at it whichever way, lets look at it with YOUR logic he did not beat the the man so he was a paper champ at the weight hi:
Dont tell me no fanny, look at it that he beat who was considered the best and thats what you boys have to suffer with :smoke
Hopkins suffered a terrible loss to Calzaghe who hadn't fought at LHW in 10+ years and his record at the weight consisted strictly of cans. It's almost as terrible as the loss Hagler suffered against Leonard who had fought nobody at 160.
atsch When did you see Calzaghe have to hang on to survive, or do the chicken dance. Answer never. Did he have a bad chin when he had his hands by his side and made fun of Jones full on flush punches when he had his hands down?
In the end the title doesn't make the fighter, the fighter makes the title. Bhop was the best in the division when Calzaghe beat him making them both the champ at LHW once Calzaghe had beaten Hopkins. This is the long and short of it. Idiots like Banny don't recognize this and only hold the alphabelts in any regard. Just remember the fighter makes the belt. These are facts, these are irrefutable... deal with it
Jones was shot to pieces, anyone with half a brain (which excludes you) takes no notice of that win. In fact it was embarrassing for Joe, put on his backside in the first round and then couldn't even get Jones out of there, something Danny Green did in one just a year later I also remeber Joe getting dropped by feather fisted bum Salem. Joe was badly hurt and ready to go but every time Salem moved in for the kill the home town ref would step in to break up the action, which gave Joe enough time to recover and bore everyone for a few more rounds to scrape the win.
