Calzaghe is without a doubt the best SMW so far... Maybe Jones could have beat him long ago, but fact is Jones was beat up by Calzaghe in the only fight they fought.

The only fighter who can surpass Calzaghe at SMW is Ward IMO, but he has a long way to go before he can call himself the greatest.

 

Popkins is often an interesting read when he can be bothered. But he has a hang to slide over to rants pretty quickly, and every now and then his opinions seems biased. Still a lot better then most Calzaghe dislikers. Like Bernie here who spit some venom and then went into a hiding, when he was expected to actually discuss for real

Joe needs to come back and fight Bute and the winner of Froach/Ward. He still has something to do at the Super Middleweight Division. After he rules the SMD again then he can retire for good and I think that his name will be inductd into the HOF.
