yes I do believe veit is a borderline bum, he was a fringe contender at best.
but I've never said Corrie was one, he was a genuine top 10 contender in stature and ability in his prime in the lewis era - but he failed to make it.

you are confusing me talking about failure at world boxing level (corrie clearly was until K2), and failure of non boxers like you and me to get on in life.

my question is, are you doing this deliberately? (ie r u lying to yourself now)

You are a hater most posters say something that adds or takes away from Calzaghe then they leave but you and a few others stay on here usually attacking fans who say something that doesn't go along with your narrative. Hell if the 3 or 4 of you left this thread would die lol.

I would like to add that Don King didn't beat Evander Holyfield, Ruiz did...

Again I have a hard time calling a world champ a bum.. But that is just my hating mentality I guess.. We will have to agree to disagree on this one, and I will be on my hating way.:good

Moana it appears you are still calling a world champ a bum.

why you continue to lie after being told you are lying?

Oh you mean like the 43 fighters you say are bums on Calzaghes resume? Even Bika went on to be a champ but he must be a bum right? What are those 3 that aren't BUMS to you? You even call Calzaghe Cowardzaghe yet he is a pro boxer who unified SMW and beaten lineal Hopkins at LHW . Being a bum is not actually being a bum in civilian terms it's being a bum in boxing terms. Usually a fighter who fights bad opposition and that Ruiz is. How are you going to call a pro fighter a coward?

Herol calls Corrie a failure which he equates to bum. But I can't call Ruiz a Bum. Only Herol can call ex champs bums.....

You mention contenders not being bums but you called Corrie a FAILED RELIC don't try to make **** up now Herol.

You pretty much called Corrie an old bum lol.

Roy was still elite for Ruiz, but he wasn't prime. Nobody is saying that Toney was at his best for Roy. Many factors have to be considered when rating any win.

    Okay.

What do you think would have happened in 1994, if James had been 100%, fighting to his full capabilities?

Joe had the tools to give Roy a lot of trouble. But again, I don't believe he had the will.

I would imagine that burning fat at 26, can't be as difficult as burning muscle at almost 35.

But I'd love to get answers from the following questions:

Why did Toney sign for the fight, if he was so out of shape?

Why was he so out of shape, when he'd fought just four months earlier?

Why did Jackie Kallen say that nobody made James do anything that he didn't want to, and he was confident of beating Roy going into the fight?

Why did James not mention wanting a rematch in his post fight interview?

Toney was a hard head who believed he was invincible no matter what shape he was in. Eventually he started saying that Roy was scared of him again.

You've made some great points in this thread, and you can't pick and chose regarding circumstances. You have to take many factors into consideration when rating any win.

If you don't think the Toney win was great, that's fine. But you're contradicting yourself a little here, because if you were being fair, you'd give Roy a lot of credit for the Ruiz win.

You'd have to assume that Roy at 25, would have kept him there, if Joe had've forced the issue.

What do you think would have happened if Toney and Joe had've fought, with both guys fighting to their full capabilities?
