Yeah, beating Lacy and Kessler = Mayweather's career. You need some A class freshly harvested cocaine to accept that.

    Gatti was better than Lacy.

And Gattis not even one of Floyds top wins.

Calzaghe did things Mayweather never did like......
    Fight outside his country.
    Unify a division.
Huge puncher before he hurt his hands.
REALLY never lost a fight(Mayweather lost to JLC and Mariana)
Real Boxing without running or holding.

Calzaghe earned his 46-0 Mayweather's is really 46-2.

This whole 'Calzaghe was a huge puncher' bull**** needs to stop.

When did these so called hqnd injuries occur?

Because if you actually check his record Calzaghe kod 2 out of his 46 opponents, and they were right at the start of his career.

    He was always featherfisted.

Gatti was COMPLETELY SHOT!!! And Floyd couldn't KO him.

Lacy was RUINED by Calzaghe. Lacy would still be champ today if it wasn't for the Calzaghe beating.

One last thing... Calzaghe is the greatest fighter in his weight class, 168. Mayweather is not.

Both Froch and Calzaghe were around 35 fighting Ward/Hopkins..

    Except Hopkins was 59.

I think Froch got old overnight against Ward..

Really Calzaghe has a 1 or a 45-0-1 at least.

    corrected for you.

though its quite funny as it stood - even trying to claim best in such a embyronic division is a poor claim.

I remember people being here on ESB who tried to convince themselves that a flawed fighter like Dawson could beat Calzaghe. I think the Pascal, Ward and Stevenson fights have probably cleared up that delusional line of thinking. I mean, when Joe was like Dawson's age he was destroying Jeff Lacy. Not losing to people like Tommy Karpency.

Dawson was a great athlete who didn't have the mind of a champion. That kind of fighter isn't going to beat Calzaghe.

Ward would be a harder fight for Calzaghe, but Calzaghe still wins. Ward gets tired later in fights and that is when Calzaghe would pour it on Ward. If Joe wanted to, my guess is he could stop the weak-chinned Ward. Much as he could have stopped Lacy had he really wanted to. Or Jones.

Calzaghe is legit. I wish he had been promoted better, much as I wish Golovkin had been promoted better early in his career. But it happens. Joe's performance against Hopkins came when Joe was 36 years old. Clearly on the downside. And then Hopkins went on to destroy Pavlik right after Joe had dispatched of him.

Calzaghe proved everything. I would have loved to see Roy-Joe in their primes, but that probably never would have happened because of Frank ******.

kessler for definite, bika a probable.

other possibles would be reid and by default lacy, however bad he was, he was still a titlist... but there are no other definites like kessler except 40something hopkins

I am not sure what part of adding the still versatile hopkins to that list is more embarrasing - that of doubling the list length, or having to resort to flaunting a 40something as evidence of your resume strength.
