In that case, Chad Dawson and Jermain Taylor must be the greatest fighters of all time because they beat Hopkins much more convincingly than Calzaghe did. :rofl

What about Jermain Taylor and Roy Jones. The beat Hopkins years earlier than Calzaghe and much clearer. They must be rated top three if Hop wins. Right?:nut

Calzaghe's razor close, debatable decision over Hopkins is almost as good of a victory as Chad Dawson's wide decision over Hopkins (Hopkins accomplished more at LHW around and after the Dawson loss then he did at LHW around and following the Calzaghe loss; he was further removed from his previous defeat facing Dawson).

Don't make me compare Calzaghe's career top 10 victories to Dawson's and make this notion of Calzaghe being a top tier ATG seem that much more ridiculous... Calzaghe holds a great spot in history, he is an ATG, but lets not go crazy now.

"I wanted to fight Roy Jones 6 years ago but he admitted to me he didn't want to fight me".

We all know HGHopkins turned down a fight with Calzaghe in 2002 but Roid Jones didn't want to fight the Welshman around that time either.

It's obvious they were waiting until Joe got old so they'd have a chance but even those plans backfired.

    Sure he didn't

    "I don't want tough fights "

""I could probably give Jones a tough fight, probably the best fight he's ever had," said Calzaghe. "But I know my capabilities and unless I got paid the crown jewels I wouldn't want to risk it."

Nothing from that statement suggests he didn't want the fight. It just says he wanted to get his fair share, boxing is a business after all.

Roid ducked Joe just like he ducked Steve Collins(who also ducked Calzaghe)

    :deal

Joe was one of the most ducked guys in that era. Taylor ran scared, Pavlik ducked, Hopkins priced himself out and Jones was side stepping him and fighting weaker challengers.

Former four-division champion Roy Jones Jr, speaking with The Sunday Times, responded to Joe Calzaghe's recent claim of chasing Jones for several years and being brushed aside. Calzaghe spoke with The Sunday Mirror and appeared to have some newfound hostility when Jones' name came up.

Jones says that he viewed Calzaghe as a possible opponent several years ago, but at the time he saw no reason to travel to Wales to chase the fight. Now that Calzaghe is the bigger star, Jones is willing to make the fight anywhere.

No is just proves that Calazghe really had no interest in facing a prime Jones because he was not on his level when he was in his prime and he even admitted it.

And how did he duck a guy that campaigned at a division below him

What a baldfaced liar Calzaghe is :rofl He ducked everyone dangerous. He tried to back out of the Lacy fight faking injury but Enzo to his credit kicked his cowardly ass & MADE him fight.
You only got to look at where they are now to compare Calzaghe & Hopkins
Bernard is set to fight Kovalev one of the most dangerous punchers in boxing He's almost 50 yrs old
Slappy Joe retired to avoid a rematch with Bernard. We all saw what happened to him. We all saw the reports of cocaine abuse, alcohol abuse, dumping his long time G/F, chasing skanky whores & hunting & killing innocent little rabbits
Cal;zaghe aint fit to carry Bernards jockstrap
