The best super middleweight of all time is either Calzaghe, Ward, or RJJ.

The GREATEST is either Collins or Froch.

The best 'SMW' I've seen is Michael Watson in the Eubank rematch. He was unreal that night.

Not sure if I can agree with that. If Collins had another big win then I would agree

    Good to see you.

    Happy New Year!

    I hope you've had a great Christmas.

I haven't forgotten about your great post on the classic. I will definitely reply to it soon.

We both know that Benn was finished after Gerald, and he went down hill rapidly.

I can't give Collins much credit for those wins.

But I have to give him credit for psyching out Eubank though.

Happy new year to you as well

Collins himself does not give himself much crediot for beating Benn. He chased that fight for the money said so himself. The alternative would of been to fight Malinga the then wbc champion
He beat Eubank twice fair and square and would of had a good chase of beating Liles . Shame that fight fell through

Collins was a better fighter than Watson.

That would have been a great clash of styles against Liles.

    :good

I'll give you that. My point is Collins had better wins than Ward, Calzaghe, and Jones. For my money Froch is higher and Collins/Benn/Eubank kind of merge into one.

    I don't agree with this.

Andre beat Kessler, Bika, Abraham, and Froch with a fractured hand.

Roy beat Malinga, Toney and Lucas with absolute ease.

Joe beat Eubank, Reid, Woodhall, Brewer, Bika, Lacy and Kessler.

Collins's resume looks good on paper, with the Eubank and Collins wins. But Eubank was past his best (as he obviously was against Joe) and was lucky not to have had three losses on his resume at that point. (Schommer, Close and Benn II) Eubank was a great fighter, but he was never the same after the Watson tragedy. Although it was highly impressive how Steve psyched him out.

The Benn wins mean nothing to me. He was shot, and had already retired once, after his loss to Malinga. He even had to put a large bet on himself, to motivate him.

After Eubank and Benn, what else did Collins do at the weight?

    Brown, Carr, Seillier, Cummings?

So I can't see how Coillns has the best resume, or the best wins.

I think Eubank had a better SMW resume than Collins, even though he was fortunate with some of the decisions.

Froch's best wins are Kessler, Bute, Abraham, Taylor, Dirrell and Groves. But I think Andre Dirrell was robbed.

So I think I'd have Froch behind Calzaghe and Eubank.

    But I respect your opinion.

    I agree with you.

Froch quite rightly gets a lot of respect for his resume and for his exciting style of fighting.

He has had some great wins.

But like you've mentioned, he has been fortunate on more than one occasion.

You have to take many things into consideration when you view a guys resume.

I don't think that his resume is as good as Eubank's or Calzaghe's, all things considered.

Funny :huh As I recall it the Taylor stoppage was due to Froch punching him in the head over and over again until he folded.

I understand the debates but when people bring up Kov vs Hopkins and compare it to Cal vs Hopkins like are you serious? Isn't there 8-10 years between the fights and Hopkins was still at the top of LHW and you call Calzaghe living in a weak era but Kov is a beast for beating a 50 yr old? Some people are so damn delusional...
