Calzaghe beat very good fighters but never a great fighter, right?

He is still a Top 5 SMW ATG in my book.He just does not make the number one spot.

Of course you mau have an opinion but stop misstating the facts and giving biased views.

Calzaghe was closer to the end of his career than Jones was

As stated before, it is easy to pick apart anybody's record.Toney has a very strong record.Anywat this thread is not about Toney.I never claimed Toney is the best SMW if all times.

:patsch We are talking SMW. You made apoint of reminding me of that. Now Toney SMW. How was that a great win compared to Eubank who had done far more? It isnt and you are now backtracking.

Roy Jones is better. Toney > Kessler.

Are you now seriously saying that the Eubank win of calzaghe is better than the Toney win of Roy?

Toney was an undefeated ATG in his prime.
Eubank is not even a great fighter and was past it.Enough said.:hat

Once again. Look at who they had beaten at SMW. Look at what they were doing.
Im glad you hold so much on being undefeated. Calzaghe beat 3 undefeated fighters that either were SMW champs or became.
Toney was undefeated but had how many SDs (go on tell us how many) and a draw with S Williams.
Tell me how Toney had done more than Eubank at SMW.
What do you think was Toneys best win at that point, as he was a prime ATG as you put it. So best win at that time please.
Also how was Eubank past it? Toney had been in a tough fight before the Jones fight and lost his fight after

    Here we go again.

Roy dropped rounds to a 28 year old Hopkins, when he was 24, with a fractured hand. Hopkins didn't lose again until 12 years later.

Dropped 1-3 rounds against Toney? I believe it was almost a shut out. Barely a HOF?

Roy was on the verge of knocking out Griffin, before a moment of madness. But we all saw what happened in the rematch. Oh and by the way, Roy iced him two years before Dariusz did.

Roy never dropped 2-4 rounds against Ruiz. It was a near shut out.

He dropped rounds to Tarver at almost 35, after 50 fights, and after dropping muscle to come back from HW.

Yes, Roy did fight a P4P fighter like Joe did with Hopkins. But Roy beat his opponent with absolute ease, whereas Joe scr*ped by Hopkins. Oh, and who'd already beaten Hopkins? Jermain Taylor three years earlier.

Yes, Roy did try and clean out his divisions.

Yes, Roy did to try to fight other fighters.

Did Joe try to fight better competition at LHW, after he couldn't unify at SMW? No.

Could he have had a straight mandatory shot at the WBO, LHW title, if he'd have moved up? Yes.

What was Joe doing while Roy was signing to fight Ruiz? Getting ready to fight Tocker Pudwill. But we'll forgive him, because it was a late replacement for a past his best, 37 year old former MW, in Thomas Tate.

Did Joe overcome his fear of flying, when Bernard was 43, and Roy was almost 40? Yes.

Did Joe say he'd have wanted 'The Crown Jewels' to have faced Roy in the early 00's, due to the element of risk involved? Yes.

Did he want 'The Crown Jewels' in 2008? No. Because there was no risk.

Did Joe say he didn't want to fight Roy, because he was so shot? Yes?

    On three occasions? Yes.

But he did go and fight him regardless? Yes.

Did Joe show a fragile mentality by repeatedly defending his lightly regarded belt, in a weak division for years? Yes.

Did Joe claim he chased Roy down for a fight? Yes.

But did he ever fight in Roy's weight class, or country prior to 2008? No.

Will Joe ever be as highly regarded as Roy? No.

    Ha!

We can do this sh*t all night long.

Roy didn't fight better competition?

He openly avoided other champs?

Joe beating Hopkins was more than Roy ever did?

At least Joe called them out relentlessly?

    You should be on stage.

    Bailey you are pathetic :patsch

Even Eubank himself disagrees with you as he recently said that fighting Roy or James Toney would have been suicide as they were in a different league.Enough said:hat

    Eubank?

Who was preparing to fight Mark Prince at LHW, until he took the fight with Joe on just 11 days notice?

Who hadn't fought at SMW for over two years?

Who hadn't had a win at SMW in three years?

Who'd had to have injections in his knees, that hampered his movement?

    Who'd had no southpaw sparring?

Who was at the end of his career?
