    I'm truly honored Serge :good

Of course I picked Jones against Calzaghe and if they fought 20 more times I would do the same ..I also picked Tyson against LL I don't deny that .. I have always maintained I picked him over Joe but so what are we saying now that version of Jones was in his prime ?

I see what you trying to do but you clearly quoted me as saying is a 39 yr old Jones supposed to fight like a 29 yr old ? Wonder what I was referring too?

    :think

And yes I supported that fight because I was sick and tired of overrated Joe .. I would have had rather seen that than Calzaghe vs Pavlik .. It would have ended worse than Hopkins Pavlik !

And yes that version of Jones was better than Kessler Lacy and
Manfredo experience was a factor .

I always maintained Joe was overrated and was never in his league does beating a 39 yr old Roy put him there ? Let me know if you really believe that ! I don't deny anything I wrote unlike Failey I don't back track or run .. :bart

Best thing to do in situations like this is just take it on the chin and say you got me good there. And whilst I can be spiteful and cruel on occasion (as can we all), especially if you catch me in the wrong mood or when I'm stressed out, I'm not the kind to rub salt in a wound, IMP. I could easily counter all this but in order for me to do so it would entail me inflicting more humiliation on you than my conscience would permit me to do. Part of it would entail me using the search engine to hang you with your own quotes and I'm afraid things would only go from bad to worse for you. Even though I have gone in on you hard on numerous occasions, I don't actually dislike you IMP.

The simple truth is, contrary to what you said in this thread and in numerous others, you didn't think Roy was shot at all. You said he was much better than a 2008 Kessler aka a still prime Kessler. The same Kessler you gave Joe a lot of credit for beating but you refuse to give Joe any credit whatsoever for beating a version of Jones you considered to be a much better fighter than him. There's no wriggling out of that I'm afraid. Like I said, just take it on the chin and move on.

I think I was pretty pumped of the idea of Roy beating Joe... But I severely underrated Joe then, as I was not fully aware of how great of a fighter he was.

I still stand by my statement that I don't mind that it happened, Joe gave Roy a shot at doing one of the greatest things in his career, turning back the clock and beating a still game undefeated Champion, and regaining the belt he lost to Tarver.

Serge let me set you straight I welcome any debate so your little threats mean little .. I don't take this personal this is all in good fun. I don't mind being wrong on occasion but I stick to my guns when it comes to certain fighters

And you could easily counter all that by all means I welcome my old quotes opinions change people evolve . You jumped in on this here I think you could do the same and moved on yourself ..no fear here brotha .. Like I said before I never run .

I wasn't threatening you. I was actually trying to be nice, even if it may not have come across that way. I was just trying to let you know in a matter of fact way exactly how it was going to go down if we didn't let it lie. I'd much rather let it lie. No hard feelings. :good

At least Roy came to fight and didn't hold, butt, come in with his head and attempt to butt, feign injury, hold, butt, come in with his head and attempt to butt, feign injury, hold some more and stink out the joint and cheat all night like B-Hop did.

I actually loved the way Roy fought so dirty against B-Hop in their rematch, under severe provocation from B-Hop of course. He really wasn't taking any of his shit at all, and rightly so. lol

no calzaghe wasn't surprised by anything, that's only your opinion of what he thought. What you think, savvy?

in complete contrast to your speculation, Barry is telling you what Calzaghe SAID. What actually happened.

You flop, failoss. Barry is being completely factual so its obvious to see why you give an opinion and then run away again.

Calzaghe disagrees with YOU, Failey, and agrees with Barry.

I have always loved that about Roy.. He would fight clean, but if someone wanted to get dirty he was all about it... I think he pretty much punked Bernard in that fight even though he didn't get the win or make any money.

Even looking back to the Griffin fight, in the round before Roy was disqualified, Griffin elbowed Roy in the face and then landed a big shot on him, the ref didn't see it but I think it should have been a point deduction... I always thought that played a little bit into Roy's frustration that Griffin was doing little dirty things that was ****ing Roy off...

I remember too when asked what Roy would do if Mike Tyson bit him, he said he would bite him back.

    lol.

I actually found it genuinely amusing. I like the way it was instinctive and he would just fire right back with something dirty immediately every time B-Hop did something dirty to him. And what made it even funnier was that Roy's not a dirty fighter. Like I said, he wasn't going to put up with any of B-Hop's antics no matter what. You hit me low I'll hit you low right back. Rabbit punch me and I'll rabbit punch you right back. lol

I'll have a look at the elbow incident in the Griffin fight later on. I don't remember it.

I like joe but he fought many fighters as their careers were in decline or were just getting old. he never had a Benn/eubank or Benn/Watson or even a Eubank/Collins fights. Ward can not be compared to Joe he has not done enough, so for me the greatest is probably a toss up between Eubank and Jones Jr
