No. Calzaghe is extremely durable and has a very quick recovery rate. I don't doubt that Carl punches hard. I don't doubt he could put Calz on his arse. Stopping Calz is another question. Nobody has even got close. Hopkins shot was timed to perfection and Calz was flat flooted when it landed, watch the tape. Jones threw a chopping right and carried his forearm with it driving Calzaghe down. Mitchell timed that shot perfectly on the button too. All those times Calz shook it off and came fighting back so hard you could argue who won the round. Honestly, I do not see Froch stopping Calzaghe which only leaves him to outpoint him and if you believe he'll outpoint him then you've not seen Calz fight. Give Carl credit, he's a strong, entertaining fighter but he's not the top SMW and Kessler, possibly Taylor and most certainly Calzaghe will all outpoint him.
As far as I'm concerned, Carl Froch has been talking a lot about Calzaghe over the years. Joe has been remarkably restrained for the most part.
Excalty, he jus doesnt like Froch, Froch has been an arrogant arsehole since he turned pro. When Woods won his title, Calzaghe congratulated him in good fashion and was more than happy to get the fight on. I think this has more to do with Calzaghe not liking Froch personally rather than what he has or hasnt done in his career.
i do support froch when he is fighting but i do not rate him in a league with calzaghe. kessler would be far too much for froch and i think taylor is the right fight for his next test.
