The facts are Hopkins has not lost since fighting Joe and is the WBC champ. Performances in the ring determine how good you are not age. Even if he loses to Chad it is nothing to be ashamed of.

I think Chad beats Hopkins. However, until it happens Bernard is currently the best.

In anybody's eyes Hopkins must be top 3 at 175.

ward isn't even prime yet he's got few more years ahead of him before we see him at his best i think ward peak's at LHW. To be fair to ward he's beaten relentless and very aggressive fighter before and faced a few of them back to back and yes there are not calzaghe but no denying he would be well ready for a calzaghe fight. It would be competitive. Fighting kessler, AA and froch is a good resume to say he can defo compete with calzaghe and i think ward would win and especially in a few years when we see him at his best. He's very fast also and is more technical than joe.

 

Ward is too much of a technician for Calzaghe, he'd comfortably UD Joe. Just a far more accomplished, skilled fighter.

 

They where both flash knockdowns. Why not claim Pascal was going to KO BHop. Flash klnockdow where the fighter is not hurt does not mean it was anywhere near becoming a KO.

 

well ward can change to southpaw also so i assume he know's how to fight southpaws and understands them.

Hopkins lost by SD to calzaghe so a youthful guy like ward who shows traits of hopkins and is still yet to show us himself at his peak could very well win a comfortable UD vs calzaghe without it sounding ridiculous, calzaghe did get Knock down by a slow hopkins. Calzaghe does leave himself open to counters and ward's body shots could very well take the steam out of him and lower that work rate and tie him up when need be. Calzaghe's speed better but ward's still very fast himself and calzaghe has to deal with that and his defense is no as good as wards and his hands are low and ward could walk through some of those slaps and land effective scoring shots to win rounds.

Everyone is comparing prime joe to ward but ward isn't at his peak and the best is still to come.

 

I would lve to see Ward vs Calzaghe. Ward would UD him. He is a better technicial fighter and has a way better inside game. Too bad we will never see it. Ward will continue being the present and the future. all calzaghe can say now is shoulda, coulda, woulda.

 

Ward will be the geratest SMW of all time when its all said an done(he is almost there) and he will easily be ranked higher than calzaghe in terms of all time status.

 

yeah only time will tell. but Ward has all the potential in the world.
