Calzaghe and Ottke have done more than anyone today, but I wasnt really looking at the top 5 more the bottom half, where you have Hilton who won a SMW world title, Thobela who did also, Catley who also won a SMW world title, Mitchell who did also and Butler who I never rated but did have some solid wins, that is far greater than Oousthuizen whos biggest win is Pryor Jnr, Groves whos is Degale, Bika who cant win a SMW title, Abraham who has done nothing at SMW and Johnson who has lost more SMW fights than he has won and DeGale who lost to Groves.

I think that answers the question

Today's division isn't weak at all and in reality history will remember it was ruled by the goat at smw.

The only thing fragile popkins has screwed in his entire miserable life is his toothless junkie ***** mother in order to pay his rent :deal.

You are popkins. And DINAMITA. And Kittikasem. And pacfan84. And the forum punchbag. And the laughing stock of esb :deal.

:rofl:rofl a SEVERELY butthurt glass psyched popkins desperately trying to create an imaginary first debate win on esb with his fake non-challenge, after I thoroughly exposed and humiliatingly destroyed him :D.

Calzaghe is rated top 168 lb of all time but i reckon Roy Jones was a cut above him, even though Joe beat him later on.Someone said Eubank,Eubank was only good domestically so **** that.Eubank was never interested in true glory, his only real interest in boxing was fighting mostly at home defending his title against dreary opposition for most of his career and getting his dollars, thats all.

I take it you do know Eubank fought the WBC SMW champ and undefeated vacated IBF SMW champ whilst WBO champ.

Out of Eubanks 18 WBO SMW title fights 14 of those fights were against fighters who were, had been or became top 10 SMWs. One was a unification and another was against the undefeated former IBF SMW champ (relinquished his title). In fact 6 of the fighters he faced had been or became world champs

I don't think any fighter can talk himself into the rankings. They've got to show something in the ring.

What exactly had Braehmer accomplished at smw to make beating him carry such weight as to propel Veit into being more than a fringe contender?

I can imagine Butler was ranked because he was a promising up and comer. But that list is loaded in favor of non-Americans, so I don't get the point really.

Andrade is Mexican, no? And again, the list has hardly any Americans on it.
I don't think they had anything personal against Veit. Maybe he was overlooked, maybe he just didn't do enough or show enough to register.

Either way, why is Mario Veit such a critical cog in this discussion?

I don't know why you keep saying that I wanted or wished for certain rankings.

I simply said I had no issues with some of the rankings regarding the Froch, Kessler, Ward, Bute situation. And I don't. If the decisions had been mine, I may have done a few things different, but nothing that I would get up in arms over.

    Kessler beats Froch.
    Kessler is injured.
    Froch beats Abraham.
    Froch beats Johnson.
    Kessler beats Bouadla.
Froch loses to Ward(#1, and who also beat Kessler)
    = no problem.

Although, I wouldn't have dropped Froch below Kessler at this time.
If Kessler were to fight and win again, not an issue.

They ranked in favor of, and against, both Froch and Kessler. What exactly is the problem?

On paper the Rocchigiani win is arguably the best of Eubank's career, given that it was in Germany and (iirc) Rocky was favoured going into the fight.

You can level a lot of criticism against Eubank for being extremely fortunate with judges' decisions, and for several uninspired performances. However, he fought a high level of competition throughout his career. Despite what is reported and what Eubank himself may have said at times, I think he would have been willing to fight Toney or Nunn. The draw with Benn leaving no clear winner, Nunn's loss to Little and Toney shifting his attention to Jones all scuppered the unification plans they had around 93-94.

Eubank was willing to go to an opponent's backyard to fight, and fought many rematches.
