How is he the most accomplished, fighting cab drivers in his back yard for most of prime in obscurity? His only good wins being against a shot Eubanks and Kessler, who has a hard fought win against Froch and got his ass spanked something terrible by Irish Andre Ward, but has done **** all with one foot out of boxing. Where is his greatness? Why isn't Steve Ottke considered the best also, he and Calzaghe have quite the similar career. The only victory he gets props from me for is against a past prime B-Hop and this fight didn't even happen in SMW. Calzaghe's resume is disgraceful, which you can only expect from the British.

Now i'm trying to be fair here. Calzaghe did also beat some guys who weren't that bad. Kessler, Hopkins and Lacy were all very good wins. Eubank was past it, but a good win all he same. Guys like Reid and Mitchell, Woodhall were solid, acceptable defenses. Bika was ok. Doesnt have many big wins, but has proved himself a tough customer.

mayb u should re watch it then think about how u score fights. Just because u are aggressively throwing 10 air slap combos does not mean u are winning.

watch it in slow mo, its a joke.

Reid is okay, Mitchell is garbage, Lacy has never achieved anything and was hypejob from day one, okay Bika was a "decent" opponent -- really one of the only fighters to actually do anything after Calzaghe. Hopkins fight didn't happen at SMW, so it doesn't count. His reign at SMW is dismal and shrouded in obscurity for good reason.

Now I'm not suggesting that Calzaghe didn't have great physical ability, but these guys hang off on his nuts need to get a grip. his resume at super middle is terrible. Froch has a better resume and fought better opponents, which was compiled within like 3 years LOL!

Eubanks was never the same after the watson fight. Had gone onto retire came back and was training for a lhw fight at which point he took the calz fight on two weeks notice.

I think not rating that fight is justified.

But if u think beating a washed up, ill prepared and drained eubanks is great, good for u.

The guy is reaching so much it is ridiculous. its sad that he has to resort to using a shot, ill prepared, weight drained, and mentally gone old fighter as a shinning point of someones 'resume'... it is sickening really.

Ward has the ability to finish as the greatest 168lber ever before he's done. He is a superlative boxer.

Roy at 168lbs is arguably one of the greatest head to head fighters on a pound for pound basis in history, but his reign there was short.

Mitchell was that bad. He was par for the course back then.

Froch has amassed a pretty damn good resume over the last 3 years.

At smw his only legacy enhancing win is Kessler. Lacy, Brewer and Reid were all journeyman. Eubank And Mitchell were fringe contenders, at best.
