I agree. Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard who never agree on anything and dislike each other both have raved about Joe's boxing talent and great career. He's not from the States so, of course, he can't be compared to former American greats. Some clowns are even arguing he's not in the top 100:-:)patsch:-(. Historians, especially now that boxing is becoming more global in scope will, I suspect, rank "The Pride of Wales" very high on their all time lists. He was an awesome talent and will be missed.

Head to head, at 168, top 4.

Head to head, at all weights, top 35 -40.

Achievement, accross all weights, probably struggles to make top 50.

He might make the top 100 all-time.

No shame in that, there have been a lot of terrific fighters in history.

The thread title was suppose to be Joe Calzaghe - Top 100 or Top 200 ATG? Just a typo on his part. He scrapes into the top 100 though.

I think this really hits something important on the head.

The modern, Queensbury rules of boxing have been in effect for over a hundred years. There have been countless thousands of boxers in those times. Not even everyone who is great can get in the top 10 or even the top 100.
