LOL, dont take him seriously with Calzaghe comments - he knows more about him than most people, but as soon as his "greatness" or legacy is called into question he can be slightly biased in his analysis and statements... :p

although calz is top 100 atg easily. infact - name me 100 fighters who have achieved more than calz, and state what they each did to do that!

Still waiting on your top 5 MWs.

Calzaghe to me is top 100 definately. But to knock a phenominal resume like Hopkins' down to build up a so-so one like Joe's (and again, Calzaghe is one of my all time favs...I just see it how it is) is unneeded....and untrue.

of course he's top100. Its a no brainer.

Tell me who you have at 100 and I'll tell you why Calzaghe is better

btw Calzaghe will beat Hopkins despite Hopkins having the style advantage in this one.

    Yes

He is easily top 30, and one could make a case for him being higher after beating Toby

    In no particular order

    Robinson
    Hangler
    Monson
    Hopkins
    Harry greb

Of course Hopkins is somewhere in the top 10 ATG Middle. I just got ticked off at these fools who claims Joe isn't even in TOP 100 ATG:patsch you either have to be completly blind or just hate the guy to say such stupid ****.

It's not that crazy to ask. And aside from getting pissed at others, you haven't even put up any argument for Joe's placing.

If Ring Mag had DLH around # 70, maybe that will put his placing into persepective. Has Joe C even accomplished as much as DLH? Beat the quality fighters he has?

****, some say top 30 ALL TIME? That is worse then saying he's NOT top 100 IMO.

Not at all true. If you're basing it solely on resume, there is a very strong case that he isn't top 100.

Skills wise he is , if I was basing this on resume then Hopkins's wouldn't look to impressive either.

No I wasn't attacking your questions. I just saw some of the replied, and yes DLH has fought the best out there, but some of those wins are very questionable ( Quartey, Whitaker, Sturm ). I agree TOP 30 is crazy , but if you don't have the guy in the top 100 then maybe you could post your top 100 and conviced me that he doesn't belong there.

Negative. The problem is it IS THAT bad. JC beat Eubank over 10 years ago. He then toiled in obscurity in wales beating B and C plus fighters to the tune of the WBO. A VAST number of mooted bouts also came and went with Joes name being linked from everyone at 160 to 175. Tito, Jones Harry Simon, Hopkins, Winky,David Telesco,Sven Ottke,Eastman,Joppy,Woods, and Glen Johnson ,to name but a few, were all bouts that had some negotiation at some time or another.ALL fell through or never materialsed when it really mattered.NOTHING happened in that decade. He then went onto to beat America`s Green poster boy and the hype machine went into absolute over drive. All of sudden people started taking note of his record his number of defences and loudly declared that JC was an all time great.

Now although Joe is immensely talented the facts remain his ledger is littered with guys like Pudwill, Jiminez, Saleem, Ashira, Veit twice?! Cease fire Mcyntyre (of which the gulf in class was so huge even Joe didnt want to hit the poor guy) and the like. His umpteen defences in Wales of this spurious belt under SN`s banner of world title boxing has been nothing short of a farce and a sham. Joe IS a world class boxer but the guys he was fighting were not. In the twilight of his career his only now making a name and truly capitalizing on his new found fame by taking on names like Hopkins after beating Kessler. It took way to long, and in all reality is too little too late. Any fighter can have a padded record. Artur Grigorian did it for years making a 17 defences of the WBO. Many here im sure dont even know who Artur Grigorian was.

History certainly wont be kind to him.And when the big names are mentioned of all time at lightweight his name i doubt will even be raised. The same will essentially be said of Joe as to his status as a top 100 ATG. His certainly a talented fighter. But his a classic right time right place guy who only captilized when it mattered to him and how much cash he stood to make.
