Wow, i guess those guys are going straight to the hall of fame...lol. Clintn woods is weak champion who was easily dismantled by Roy. If he beats Tarver than he will get easily dismantled by Chad Dawson. I have never heard of this Starie fighter so obviously he is a no name who beat the less than average Clinton Woods.

I feel I should do just that, but he keeps dragging me back in. I assume he's doing it on purpose, but supporters of his believe him to be serious, so I'm not sure.

Oh and Clinton Woods was never the best at 175 so i dont where you get impression. The guy is a paper champion that has gift decisions wins over Glen Johnson, another average fighter.:bart

Starie beat Woods very early on. Woods isn't top tier to begin with (something you have said before) and Starie also lost to some unknown fighters. Simply not a valid argument.

So we have both Langford and Walcott, two fighters with statistically indifferent resumes. Now we can 'circle jerk' here if you want to.

Langford is great because he fought Walcott who fough tthe great Langford.

    But I can too.

Joe Calzaghe beat prime Robin Reid.

Robin Reid is great because he was competetive with Joe Calzaghe.

Joe Calzaghe beat Robin Reid which makes Reid competetiveness impressive.

Equal to whats on Langford's record regardless.

Langford and everyone he faced lost to unknowns at some point, at least they are unknowns, the win over Langford aside.

Starie had some ability, a good defensive fighter (in his last fight he went the distance with Ottke) however his close points win over Clinton Woods was (I think) at 168 which is not Woods natural weight and this was early in Woods career too, he's got better since then.

For the record for those who haven't seen the fight Calzaghe stank out the joint against Starie, the judges scorecards were a disgrace the fight was actually quite close as I recall. Boring as **** but close.

Oh and God help China Hand Joe if Calzaghe beats Hopkins and then goes after Clinton Woods, the man who a former victim 'hammered' :yep

No it's not. You said he had mixed results with top contenders. Starie, as I have just proved, is not a top contender, and you, during debates over Jones and Calzaghe, have claimed Woods was not either.

Easily top 100. Yes, he doesn't have the best resume, but he does have absolute brilliant talent, if you rate it on talent alone I'd put Calzaghe in the top 30, pushing into top 20 list.
He is an absolute legend, and people go OTT talking about his bad resume, he's beaten fighters like Eubank, Reid, Lacy and Kessler, in which he was under dog in 3 of those fights. LEGEND.

How? Please explain how. He compared Barbados Joe Walcott, who had wins over the best fighters of the era from WW to HW, to Robin Reid, who had a competitive fight with Joe Calzaghe.

Just because you don't have a single clue about Walcott, doesn't mean he made a good point. But go ahead and try to explain yourself anyway.

Calzaghe ruined Starie, he was never the same again. Perhaps the excitment of that fight was just too much for him?

Starie is an underrated win, no doubt.
