I am watching this fight and Lacy looks mediocre. Joe ruined him.

I agree. But lacy was never really that much of a boxer. he is kinda of predictable. And plus all that muscle, he gases out in about 6 rounds.

Ruined Lacy or was lacy way over rated, therefore was only being himself ?

I saw many of lacy's fight prior to Calzaghe and lacy was out boxed in those fights until his one punch power bailed him out.

Lacy could still win a title at 168 with his punching power but it looks like he's going to continue to struggle in fights.

The four or five fights prior to Calzaghe -- Reid, Pemberton, Williams, Sheika, Vanderpool -- Lacy looked really, really good. Not like this. Not at all like this.

I think the injury he got 'vs' Typsko hurt him more.

Lacy was a beast early on his career. He was damn fast and strong as all hell. That's gone now, but maybe you're forgetting how talented he was.

He was fast and strong as hell.

But talent wise, he was never that talented. His speed and strenght made up for his boxing skills. As he aged the speed went, the power is still there. He was also notorious for his stamina. He would swing for the fence so much and throw power shots after power shot in the early rnd. By the 7 rnd he was usualy gased.

Lacy was able to overcome his weakness with youth. Its now apparent in his 30s how much youth (speed and power) made up for it.

It certainly had a big effect along with the loss to Joe.

I agree. Lacy is a one punch slugger. He was overrated. And I admit, I was one of those who overrated him before the Calzaghe fight. However I did predict Lacy having trouble with boxers after the Sheika fight. Calzaghe proved that point.
