What a divided opinion on the outcome! Whatever the result, alot of people are gonna be gutted!

The way I see it panning out is Calzaghe to take the early rounds and take advantage of Hop's notoriously slow starts (similar to Taylor fights) and then Hop to come on a little from round 4. The one thing which puts this fight in Joe's favour for me is his ability to adapt. After Hop taking a couple of middle rounds I see Joe working him out and then getting back on top, leaving it too late for Hopkins to change his style and try something else (which he is capable of but wont be able to do in time).

Not sure whether this is gonna be a particularly good spectacle but its certainly one of the most intriguing fights of recent times!!!

    Cant wait

Hopkins very much enjoys the chance of vigorous life-reaffirmation that this fight provides him. He loves the spotlight. He loves to hear himself talk. He loves to hear himself praise himself for overcoming so many obstacles. He loves to praise himself for overcoming his age and still being in the game, at the highest level. Hopkins is very much ego-driven. That will prove his downfall, I think. This time he bit more than he can chew. No big deal, though; it's not like he's not been beaten a good couple of times before. If Hopkins comes to fight, Calzaghe has a good chance on stopping him; if he keeps dodging him all night, on the backfoot, Hopkins has a good chance to survive.

I often wonder why so many chose to hangout at this site, yet know diddly-squat about boxing.
I've come to the conclusion that this site presents a path for those less interested in the sweet science and more interested in a medium to hype their nationalistic pride, and for them, that is enough for them to base their decision. While this is great for the odds in Vegas, it is still overall a sad sight to behold for the sport I love, boxing.

We see those here that ignore reality and make comparisons between a Eubanks and a Sugar Ray Leonard or Hagler. A Kessler to a Tommy Hearns, and last but not least, a Lacy to a Tyson.
Today, any nobody can be inducted into the HOF based on the number of tickets sold, or the longevity they've held onto a worthless belt by defending it against virtual nobodies.
No wonder the great sport of boxing is a dying scientific art.

Bernard always taked like that. He has a lot of pride in the way he overcame those situations in the past - being stabbed near the heart, 3 times in the back, the fact that he was incarcerated, the people he stood against, his lifestyle, not drinking, not smoking,... - actually he always spoke like this before and after the fights... "I am not Great but I will be...I am the american Dream, Larry" (Trinidad post-fight interview) and I like to hear him talk like he probably likes to hear himself talk. But I notice that he keeps on saying that he's not a fool, that he's not suicidal, that people will respect him somewhere in the future for what he did and said... I sense that Bernard feels somehow disrespected by the media and by HBO which is turning attention towards Calzaghe... He keeps on talking about Calzaghe's three fight contract with HBO and that final fight in the U.S. and emphasizing that that last one had to be against him.

Calzaghe is going to comprehensively outbox Hopkins, and win an extremely one-sided decision. Prime for prime is another matter, but this is NOT a prime Hopkins. At this point, Calzaghe will toy with the old man the way he did with Lacy. This will be a VERY one-sided fight.

Does anyone else think that this fight might become a bit boring stylewise?!

This is the guy I respect the most in what has to do with predictions. Don't know what you make of what he says since his is in a sealed envelope... And he doesn't let you guess but I have the idea.

If Hopkins wants to survive and make the fight reasonably close, he has to make it a boring fight. It's the only way. If he comes to fight, he gets stopped.

Serious, somber straight talker ( not a kid either)... I say he is deep into this sport and it doesn't take much to hear him on this one.

I always listen to his shows:D

He is not always well informed, but he's better than those jokers at p4p boxing. The best one is that young kid, surprisingly!
