Fair enough that Reid hit him flush but with all due respect I don't think he's much of a ko threat to anyone these days, did you see his performances on the contender?

 

Froch is wide open and has been hit by everything and everyone. To my knowledge no one has made him blink yet.

 

I hope he has got a good chin and I also hope he does really well in his career I don't see him having been really tested yet against quality opposition to claim he has a great chin.
I take the point that power doesn't fade, his defence is not good though and he will get caught many more times against fighters with more skill, speed and a lot more power than Reid.
Reid didn't land many huge punches on him as he was blowing out of his arse after a couple of rounds so he could never follow them up in bunches.
Still think he's completely untested against quality opponents to determine for real if is durable or not.

 

Froch stole that line from Kevin Kelly, before his fight with Hamed.

"Ill smoke your boots!" is what Kelly said in the run up to his barnstormer with Hamed.

It always annoys me when people give Froch credit for that line when he blatantly stole it. You would think with all the so called Hamed fans here they would remember, but cynical old me always laughs up my sleeve cos I know that the vast majority here dont have the knowledge like us ESB old timers have.
The old timers know who they are, but sadly enough the times they are a changin & big mouthed noobs are taking over. & its sad to see. & i dont mean you Smazzo. However, you should know that Froch stole his funniest line from an american.

 

Calzaghe has been bad enough when it comes to opponents, Frochs taken it to a whole new level.

As for the fight, it will never happen, sadly enough. BUT... strager things have happened.

Now I really dont like Joe Calzaghe, I have tried to, but I just cant take to him. hes utterly arrogant like his father, & they make a terrible twosome.

However, having said that I still think Calzaghe would beat Froch by UD, simply because Froch is too slow. Froch has power, & a great chin. & it was funny to see Froch talking up his uppercut, but only after I said here it was his best punch! Believe it ESB'ers, the fighters pay more attention to us than they like to admit. Well the smart posters anyway.(you know who you are)

The fight will NEVER happen though. Cos it seems in 21st century brit boxing if you call out the champ like Witter & Froch have done you are looked down upon. What a ****in disgrace, when fanboys make fights NOT happen...

Take a good hard look at yourselves Hatton & Calzaghe fans. When both have retired, you will take off the blinkers & wonder what might have been when the next batch 9of future stars are coming through...

What are you talking about, Dunky? How can you compare Witter to Froch? Witter was a proven beltholder when he was calling out Hatton. Froch's an unproven PROSPECT who says he's KO Bute, Kessler and beat Calzaghe, but who avoided Bute when he had the chance to fight him!

Him calling out Calzaghe is laughable! He's only after the money and fame that come with such a fight! Nothing wrong with it, of course, - every prospect in the world and every contender bar none wants to fight Calzaghe - but it's still laughable...

Froch is a good old pro and a good mandatory but this is one of the cases where the champ is elite. Calzaghe has bigger fish to fry. Even so, Calzaghe never loses to Froch. You can't put on the technical displays that he did v Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins and then lose to Froch.

Froch should fight for the vacated title.

This fight could be huge though. Could sell out a big stadium, all British show down, loads of coverage, Froch is the mandatory etc HOWEVER no one in their right mind would choose Froch as Joes opponent when Pavlik and co are around.

 

I want to see Froch get a boxing lesson from Joe mostly. That Southpaw Jab of Joes will get through and Joe can follow up with pressuring Froch with fast flurries, pummeling him onto the ropes.
