    Good post:good

Both funny & insightful, I like it!

& the Froch line at the end was the icing on the cake.

Even though he has explosive power, I don't think Froch is anywhere near deserving of a fight with JC. He hasn't fought in anything like the same class as JC has. Froch needs to beat a genuine contender first and I feel this is where Froch comes unstuck. His distinct lack of defence will let him down against a contender (and I don't mean Manfredo either!! :rofl ).

Aye, bless him, Carl Froch just dying to get it on for the love of a tear up and a title.

Meanwhile back in the real world , boxing is a business , JC holds all the cards as he's unbeaten at SMW and LHW, and Froch has very little to offer apart from an unbeaten record and a very interesting domestic fight which only UK boxing enthusiasts would really want to know or care about.

This doesn't equal interest from America , PPV etc a big pay day, like it or not, it is all about money. If Froch was in JC's postion the same logic would apply, it would be naive to think otherwise.

I take your point, but I genuinely dont think that many people in the UK want to see it happen.

    Mis-match.

Indeed, as he's only got a few left in him I think more fans want to see JC fight some more American P4P's - I was just playing devils advocate as to what appealed in a JC vs Froch match-up

Being honest, there was zero interest Stateside in the Macc vs Haye fight.

But nonetheless, it made big numbers.

At the end of the day, sure the states is where the fame and fortune might lay - but little old Great Britain has mustered up some great domestic fights over the years.

I don't buy the excuse that #1 Contender Froch don't deserve his shot... when a faded-force from the 1990's in Roid Jones just fly's in and gets straight in there?

Whats next, David Haye versus Muhammed Ali ?

Sure there may not be a huge age gap, but in career-years it's massive.

Roy Jones was the IBF, WBA, WBC, NABF, IBO unifed light heavy champion, after dominating middle & super middle whilst Joe was still fighting someone 5-22 in a Town hall.

Let's get behind the fight and make it happen !

Sure, we'd all love a Pavlik fight - but just you watch, it'll be Beyer or blinkin Inkin instead i swear. Whenever Joe has been in a position of strength they have simply decided to milk the public with lame opposition a la Manfedo and Bika.

Mark my word - a bum will come to Cardiff and everyone will say "Why didnt he fight Froch if it wasn't going to be Jones or Pavlik?"

But he had he bollcks to step up against a guy of Taylors quality for his first defence in his own back yard and take the guy out late !! ... im a calzaghe fan but im seein him for his own self preservation tactics ... JC never took a huge risk ... bar Kessler ! even when he went to the states he fought two penioners .... Froch deserves 100% credit for taking a massive chance a true world champion ...well done the Cobra massive respect

Froch has a terrible defence and is too slow for Calzaghe. Joe would pick him apart with ease.

Calzaghe by a very easy UD.

Froch isnt ready for these guys yet.

Very good win for Froch but he should concentrate on the many useful opponents out there who haven't retired.

He should have a couple of easier fights before taking on Kessler, as he will have to work on his defence before he steps into the ring with him.

JC would win by a very wide UD but I hope that it never happens. Time for Carl to move on and forget about Joe.
