Quite simply he should rematch Hopkins before anything else.

He scraped past a 43 yr old career middle weight by a controversial split decision, and he beat a shot to **** guy. I really don't see how that means someone has nothing to prove at LH...

Screw Hopkins. Joe beat him fair and square.

He landed more than anyone else on Hopkins whether they were patty cake punches or not.

I think it was 24/7 Joe vs. Roy, where Freddie Roach said Hopkins went to the wrong corner 4 times.

Joe landed the shots and outworked BHop.

That 43 year old guy just beat Kelly Pavlik.

I had this fight 115-113 or 116-112 for Joe. Can't remember.

I think some people just want Calzaghe to carry on fighting until he loses so they can smugly shout:

    Exposed!

There is that and the public seem to warm to a champion that loses, but simultaneously is quite successful - ie Pacquiao, Hatton - well that is how I see it.

calzaghe`s biggest challenger was up and coming lacy who he bravely faced and beat.
then people were saying kessler is the man at smw,so calzaghe once again stepped up to the plate and beat him,
then he moved up weight" just after his fellow brit was beaten and unsuccessful at moving up weights(hatton-pbf)"and fought the best at lhw in b hop and beat him.
he has always wanted to fight jones jr so took that fight and the man still gets slated.wtf is going on.

Why fight Enzo when he could fight Adamek or Jones.

Oh wait, its because Enzo is the easier fight, isnt it

Bernard Hopkins is still a great fighter. But beating him via split decision doesn't mean that "Joe Calzaghe has nothing to prove at LH" in my opinion. If Calzaghe grows a pair and rematches Bhop and wins the fight clearly, then he might be able to claim what the OP originally stated.

    Several holes in this post.

The Champion is supposed to face the young up and coming fighters in his division.

Did Calzaghe really beat Hopkins? I'm not convinced.

He said in his book that he wasn't interested in Jones because he was shot - in 2006. So why the change in heart, when Roy had done NOTHING to suggest otherwise?

Fact - Hopkins didn't make a fight of it, just ran all 12 rounds and fought dirty - the same referee (CORTEZ!) wouldn't let hatton get near mayweather on the inside yet let Hopkins fight dirty on the in side all night against Joe

WHy would Joe want a rematch with racist Hopkins - he didnt make a fight of it and tried cheating his way to a win (low blow my arse)

NO1 at light heavy or super middleweight would beat Joe - fact. ANd before any one says Kessler rematch it would only be the same outcome, Joe has Keslers number and the first fight wasn't as close as people think. JOe outboxed Kessler and took his bets shots and still came back firing, he is a clss apart whether the Americans liek it or not.

And Taylor wouldnt win a round against JC

Americans won't give Calzhage his "DUE" no matter what (I am one) They get in many groups that challenge each other =no country has a monopoly on this) to disagree is akin to national.-((
