That's a great post, and a very fair assessment. But guys like Assassin just don't want to believe it.

I enjoy debating with him, but he needs a reality check.

    Rico,

Joe carried the lightly regarded, WBO trinket belt around with him for ten years.

What are your thoughts on this?

He won all the belts at Super Middleweight the first and only person to do such and he wasn't scared to fight the other best fighter in the Division like Glass Jaw Roy was and when he moved up he went right for THE Light Heavyweight Champion not some handpicked trinket beltholder.

    :lol::lol::lol::lol:

Jones's resume shits all over. Joe's he wouldn't have been champ at 168 had Jones stayed there ..Scared to fight the best who's the best guy Joe faced at super middle ? Jones 1 win over Toney at super middle is better than any win Joe has in the division ...Fact !

Makes you wonder what kind of pu.ssies admire a slapping coward like The Welsh Rabbit.

You'd think if they wanted to jockride a Brit fighter they'd be all over Carl Froch crotch...

Maybe if Froch were a coke-up slap fighter he'd have more fans on this forum.

to be fair, no one wanted the wbo strap so if roy had stayed at smw instead of moving to a major weight class, he probably wouldn't have noticed the wbo straps existence until well into the 2000s.

but yeeah joe and ottke wouldn't have been champions of legit titles if roy had stayed at smw. Who wants to stay in a fledgling division though, let alone stay there for ten years.

    Ha!

The ONLY REASON that Joe became the first person to win all of the belts at SMW, is BECAUSE HE STAYED THERE FOR FOURTEEN YEARS, THROUGH A LACK OF AMBITION!

What Joe did wasn't an achievement.

When Roy had no realistic chance of unifying, he moved up.

But Joe was happy to stay there, fighting in a weak division, against the Sobot's and Branko's of the world.

You're a joker Rico, and I love clowning you.

Joe eventually moved up to 175 in his 15th and final year as a pro, and he won a close decision against a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins.

Roy moved up to HW, and DOMINATED a top 5 guy, who'd gotten the WBA belt.

But for some warped reason, you give Joe credit, but not Roy.

Also, if Ruiz's WBA HW belt was nothing more than a trinket, then what the F*CK did Joe carry around his waist for TEN YEARS?

If you don't rate the WBA, then the WBO must be less than worthless to you.

    Yes?

    Ha! Keep hating!

Pavlik was the fight to make after Hopkins, and Joe could have schooled him like Hop did.

But in typical Joe fashion, he contradicted himself and looked like a fool.

He dismissed Roy as a threat twice, and also said that Pavlik had done nothing.

But then he ended up fighting Roy, and then he spoke of how Frank had offered Pavlik a fight a few years earlier, but it had been turned down.

So at that point, Pavlik wouldn't have achieved anything at all.

He'd have done less than what Joe had thought he'd done in 2008.
