It is an outrageous disgrace that posters these days don't know the difference between a Lineal champ, unified champ, undisputed champ, and title holder while they debate the history of the sport like they know what they are talking about.:-( Page after page, thread after thread, pwnage after pwnage they try to add and take away from the truth by uttering these baseless claims coated in unsubstantiated drivel attempting to imitate boxing historians, scholars and noblemen.

So this is why I started this ESB service of setting these ignorant folk homework for the good of boxing. The aim is to eradicate ignorance replacing it with knowledge and eventually boxing would be discussed, debated and learnt at the highest degree of caliber resulting in intellectually well mannered posters grounded in boxing knowledge. As the homework scheme slowly gains success and respect, new City & Guilds courses on boxing covering history, glass jaws, hypejobs and so forth should be introduced to take boxing knowledge to a higher level.

When a fighter retires he vacates his status. When Mayweather retired after beating Hatton he was no longer the lineal champion and the lineal title was made vacant. Also when Floyd retired he was no longer the WBC WW champ, when he returned he won the WBC WW title back when he beat Ortiz. Likewise when the lineal champion retires, he also vacates the lineage.

It is foolish you would even ask such a question. Honestly I am surprised a person that has been on this forum following boxing for at least 5 years does not even know that when a fighter retires he vacates his titles. I mean this is common knowledge, you should do the homework I set you because as it stands, you don't know **** about boxing :deal. If Joe Calzaghe returns do you expect him to automatically be reinstated the SMW lineal champ because he used to be one before he retired atsch
