Joe Calzaghe v Winky Wright

There is very little to suggest that Winky could beat Calzaghe.

 

Winky would be way too slow,he'd get busted up bad

 

winky loses all footspeed and stamina above 160 calzaghe would box circles around him and pick up points even if they were just hitting winky's guard

 

Winky's guard would be cracked in this one against the bigger man who throws a wild volume of punches.

 

Calzaghe beats Winky. Should Winky cover up he'll get hit 10 times and then Joe will step off. Joes jab has the speed to box with Wright. I think Joe wins about 9-3.

 

Bad match for Winky, Joe's hand and foot speed and angles would be murder on Winky. Also Winky doesn't have any power even if he can hit Joe on occasion, which is hard to do to begin with. I don't see anyone out there who can beat Joe now.

why i see u guys give calzaghe alot of credit.. dont forget he had a close fight wit hopkins... and winky had a close fight with hopkins.. stylistically this would never be an easy fight for calzaghe regardless of weight... he would win this on points simply because he would have to throw 125 punches a round to convince the judges that somewhere with all that slapping he was inflicting damage

 

A peek a boo defense against Calzaghe is just asking for trouble. Besides he's way too small.

In what world does that happen? Did you see how fat and podgy Winky looked against Bhop in his last fight ...well over a year ago? at 175 Winky has no chance.

Winky was interviewed by British Channel - Setanta at ringside before Calzaghe-RJJ.... and he said he would be willing to go to Cardiff to fight Calzaghe.... which was even more delusional that his fight prediction of RJJ winning.

I think you biased Americans should just stop putting names forward for Calzaghe.... 1st it was unproven Pavlik who would destroy the slapper..... Now it's Chad Dawson...let the Chad Dawsons of this world prove themselves first. Calzaghe is only going for the big fights with big names.... who the fuk is Chad Dawson? Most people in UK thought Kelly Pavlik was a new weather girl.... Calzaghe has beat both your legends on US ground....whether you like it or not.

The big problem is guys like BHoop - as much as I do like him - did not give credit to JC after his fight... Not even a well done.... I don't know whether its because he's white or what....But Bhop and many other Americans just can't accept Calzaghe has bust up all the Americans he's faced.

Watch Winky vs. Soliman for the best example. Soliman doesn't punch hard, but throws in volume, is very unorthodox and wings punches....sound like anyone?

Wright beat Soliman but struggled with the style.

Soliman is 2 weight divisions lower than Calzaghe, has less power, less skill... basically less everything, so if Winky struggles to master Soliman how is he going to do anything to Joe.

****, with Joes chin and his power I don't think he even has a punchers chance. Calzaghe by wide, wide decision.
