Joe calzaghe vs Andre ward

I personally disagree. The Ward of now would have troubled the best Calzaghe (I didn't say beat!). Ward will keep getting better with age too. I don't think Calzaghe would have won so easily. Just my opinion of course.

 

absolute peak Cal would go 50:50 or perhaps SD with Ward of today.

Ward is not at his peak yet, but I would bet that on his current form he will eclipse Calzaghe who was really a HOF pioneer of the SMW division rather than an ATG. Its very stupid to label a minor division title holder an ATG/

you'd only say 'always' if you were unreasonably biased, since Ward is still developing, so one cant make a final judgement on him unless you are making a crass call.

You ough to put forward arguments that support your stance, rather than weaken it.

The only time that Ward was knock down was by an uppercut.

Ward beats both bute and calzaghe. He is just that good. His reign will be for a long time.

I think Ward is hitting his peak right now..
This version of Ward against the Calzaghe who fought Kessler, Hopkins and Jones is a toss up imo..
A prime Calzaghe would probably win a competetive fight against Ward.. But i think we will need 1-3 more years to see what the "best" Ward looks like..

 

I think that Ward beats Bute, right now i don't think that Ward has done enought to prove that he could beat Calzaghe in his prime, but it may come..

 

As a fellow Irishman, I would love to see Ward win, but Calzaghe is too good for him. Ward is a helluva fighter though, there is no shame in losing.
