No he wasn't, which is why he only hit the canvas 4 times in 50 fights in his career and 2 of them were in his last two fights.

 

yes he was, he was always getting hit by people who knew how to box vs southpaws or at leas enough to not get confused by them. he just rarely fought someone with that distinction in skill.

He got hit thousands of times not just 4.

getting hit and getting knocked over are different things, why dont you know the difference? u MUST know surely.

Bernard Hopkins exposed Tarver as a one dimensional fighter. Calzaghe would outpoint him easily just as Hopkins did.

 

No hate but I would expect Calzaghe to clearly beat Tarver and even looking down the form line it favours Calzaghe

I think it could have been a very interesting fight.

I think it's far too easy to just claim that Joe would have won with relative ease.

How many LHW's did Joe fight?

How many world class southpaws did he fight?

How do we know how he'd have approached the fight? He may have been cautious. It may have been very tactical. We can't just assume that he'd have unloaded volume and beaten him with ease. At the end of the day, he struggled with lesser fighters at the weight below.

Regarding Bernard's win over Tarver, there's a good chance that Tarver was drained for that fight.

 

With a broken hand. Take that!

 

Tarver beats Joe. Tarver is too big. Defense too good. Early Joe maybe gets in a few good shots
but late Slappy Joe loses a decision.

 

Calzaghe beats Tarver no question.
