froch didnt have a choice did he, oponent drops out, carl gets a new opponent...opponent drops out for ward...ward gets free points.

 

Only 18 of Calzaghes 46 fights was in Wales, including 5 of the first 7 when he was starting off .

25 of Froch's 31 fights have been in England, including 14 in Notts itself and 1 on the doorstep in Derbys.

 

You failed to figure in all Zaghes fights in England with a home crowd too, since Zaghes is be definition English by birth.

Zaghes fights largely in Britain with a home crowd and largely bums, Froch has fought the best away from Britain, fighting in NOttingham as you refer to whilst on the way up as a young man - hardly a crime for a young man short of travel money.

Putting aside their ability in the ringm dont for a moment try and compare these two in terms of personality, one is a devoted spin artist - Zaghes, one is a real man who takes on all anywhere regardless (Froch). If Calzaghe had dared to do what Froch does he would have nearly half a dozen defeats on his record by now.


Just DONT even try, not even for a second, to compare their personal approaches to boxing you will fail EVERYTIME and PAINFULLY.

 

Calzaghe might be too fast and busy.. froch has a much better legacy though.. fought much better competition ( calzaghes only real a level fights were hopkins ( which was real close) and kessler... maybe add lacy in there as well)

 

Froch cant have it both ways the only reason there are some well known names on his resume is because of the super six, otherwise it would be a paper title and a voluntary defence here and a mandatory defence there.

Froch was outclassed by Ward and Froch was clearly beaten by Kessler, Calzaghe beat Hopkins in the middle of his best run of wins in his career in the States and he beat a prime unbeaten Kessler, Froch lost to a worse version of Kessler who was coming off a loss.

Calzaghe beats Froch [and has a better resume than him, counting clear losses for Froch as a positive :roll:] any day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

What do you mean he cant have it both ways? He cant build a tmie machine to go back and face Glen when he was 25. You cant have a New York lunch in Yemen. Somethings are not physically possible.

He clearly applies both philosophies as far is humanely possible, even if they clash with each other occasionally so that he cant fulfill them both --

1. facing top opponents in their prime
2. taking on all comers regardless anywhere anytime

Calzaghe fought Englishmen in England when fighting under the flag of Wales, like Delaney, Eubank, Reid, Starie and Woodhall , Calzaghe was the away boxer, Calzaghe also fought Hopkins and Roy Jones in the States and a German in Germany for a World title, he also fought an American for a World title in Denmark on the same bill as Mike Tyson.
Considering Calzaghe was the title holder he was always fighting away from home.

Froch scored a fantastic win over Bute. But Calzaghe is a completely different level.

Calzaghe won two or three good fights in his career and Froch has as at least as many good performances as Calzaghe. I guess Joe wins every H2H match up by virtue of looking lost against Hopkins and beating the corpse of Roy Jones Jr.

 

Bernard Hopkins was in the middle of the best run of wins in his career when Calzaghe beat him, Hopkins had beaten Antonio Tarver and Winky Wright right before Calzaghe beat him and Kelly Pavlik straight after Calzaghe beat him, infact Hopkins didnt get beaten in his next 5 fights after lossing to Joe, Pavlik, Ornelas, Roy Jones and Pascal twice.

 

Tell me what these good performances of Froch were.
I know you are dim and ignorant Robert, and didnt watch the SMW division until you believed J Lacy was the best thing since sliced bread, but I would tell you that even some of the fighters you know little about like Veit, was considered a world champ and had a better resume than Dirrell, Abraham at SMW, Taylor at SMW, Johnson at SMW.
You wouldnt know this, but heres the great thing. C Dawsons biggest win is the even older Hopkins that Calzaghe beat atsch
