I've said this for the better part of a year that Dawson would beat Calzaghe if they ever fought.

I think Dawson could win. I wouldn't put any money down on it, though.

I say Dawson by razor thin UD. When fighting on the inside Dawson is a LHW who can match Calzaghe handspeed and can dip out of the way of Calzaghe flurries when he starts going and just the sheer strength of Dawson will show as the fight wears on,I would love to see it if Calzaghe still has enough in him to do so.

Chad was able to cope the workrate and agression of Glen Johnson so Joe Calzhaghe workrate won't be able to do Chad in, Chad bad decision making would but I think Chad is smart enough not to rest for even one round against Calzhaghe.

I'd like to think Dawson wins, but it would be rad to see Calzaghe have to kick it up a notch. Great fight, it'll never happen though...

This is a great stylistic matchup. Both are very active fighters. I think Calzaghe would win; the ****** (as mayweather sr has alluded too) comes out of dawson at times...even in the tarver fight you often would see it. That why his corner said "Stay focused" before EVERY round.

    Tarver when it dropped him.:huh

The three best fighters on Dawson's resume have rocks for chins. Adamek, Johnson and Tarver. Dawson did have a problem stopping Ruiz or Mendoza. And Ruiz went the distance but Paul Briggs who is a big puncher.

It's easy to pressure a 43 year old middleweight. It's another to pressure a 26 year old beast of a fighter that Dawson is. Hopkins landed almost at will whenever he threw a punch and stunned Calzaghe 2 or 3 times. Dawson is faster, more explosive and hits 10 times harder the B Hop.

definatelly, people don't realise when calzaghe tries to go awol and flurry like no tomorow like he did against b-hop he would get seriously ****ed up against dawson, dawson has better hand speed and much better power, he also posses better accuracy so that takes away calzaghes #1 weapon already, going awol while oponents are backing up, Calzaghe is awkard but Dawsons explosiveness would force Calzaghe out of any game-plan, Dawson like a young RJJ throws a high speed dangerous lead left hook or a straight right down the pipe, and like rjj he can get away with it because of his fantastic athletism, anyway a hard fight for dawson(not as hard as some of you are saying, IMO he wont be as hard as the johnson fight) but he should win this

Why does it need to be based on the last performance only? It is no mystery that Hopkins is difficult to fight, no matter who you are or how old he is...
