    Calzaghe

To much of a boxing brain and intensity for groves. Calzaghe is great on front or back foot and has a great chin too. Can't see groves winning this one.

on second thoughts i actually think calzaghe would TKO groves with the sheer volume of punches

People are judging Groves on this 'chinny reputation' of his again which is bollocks. I am a big Calzaghe fan, but i don't think he would get rid of Groves. I think Calzaghe would beat him, but Joe would be extra careful just like he was in the Kessler fight maybe more because Groves is a serious puncher who would test the best of chins and Calzaghe would be very respectful of that. Calzaghe unanimous decision.

In fairness no one really knew how much one punch power he had cause he had not fought anyone.

If had thought groves instead of froch that night he would of gone in not respecting his power the same way froch had no respect for his power before the fight. If that same punch landed on a calzaghe not respecting the power before hand, calz is not getting up TBF. If calz fought him now nowing full well that Groves has that one punch power he wins by shut out.

I don't know Calzaghe had good whiskers on him as well.

But i think Froch's mistake was he didn't have any respect full stop for Groves and he just expected to walk through him.

Calzaghe would definitely have approached the fight differently?

as much as i love groves i think at this point in time calzaghe wins easily, although he still batters froch when the rematch happens this summer

Have to go with joe. He had to speed to match groves and would outwork him.

From what I can remember Joe was down 3 times in his career against Byron Mitchell, Hopkins and Roy Jones and Fropch has been down twice to Taylor and Groves. Joe never got hit as easy as Froch does, but he had a very reliable chin. Don't get me wrong Froch has a head like a rock..

Yeah he was knocked down 3 times, He's got a much better defence then Froch. Froch's defence against Taylor and Groves was just awful

He was also put down hard by Salem who was fairly feather fisted and pretty much a domestic level type fighter, Joe had a decent chin but it could be cracked. Don't think Groves could beat him though.

    Groves gets stopped.
Joes a genuine puncher, throws in flurries and had he most incredible work rate.
If Groves doesn't visit lala land v a left hand bomb, he gets stopped exhausted after 5-6 rounds.
See how tired he was v Froch who's no volume puncher.
    I'm 100% convinced Joe wins 10 times from 10

Joe was hurt really bad all 3 times, was right on button all 3 times, one with. Forearm but Joes powers of recovery were incredible, also v Kessler he was badly hurt but recovered.

Likewise Froch, he can be dropped and hurt but recovers so well.

It's different to say Oliver McCall who seems like you could hit with a fence post and not hurt.

Calzaghe had a chin of cast iron in my opinion. There's no shame in going down from a punch, your chin is proven by your ability to get and respond. And that Byron Mitchell fight, what a heavy knock down he took, then he gets up and goes toe to toe, taking huge bombs in the process. Cast iron in my opinion.
