Calzaghe would have beaten Toney. Some on this board are still claiming that Toney would knock out Vitali and Vlad.............
Joe probably outworks Toney for a close UD unless he gets KTFO, which is possible but less likely imo.
Oh, I dont know, how could anybody think Dave Tiberi or Drake Thadzi or Montell Griffin could ever stand a chance against James Toney, but they did, in fact two of them got the offical win against him - Griffin did twice - and all three men arguably beat him. Very talented and possessing of great attributes Toney was, consistant and infalable and unbeatable he was not.
it hinges on this, Toney achieved very high standards, good ones, middling and mediocre ones.. Joe achieved good to mediocre wins but hardly ever anything better. He has only once proven capable of achieving a good result versus a prime good opp. Toney has the edge in achieving high standard on a single night. So basically you are arguing that Toney should have the advantage.
You are talking about a guy who was in the famous Kronk sparings and was in 5 weight divisions fighting everybody, and yet you say he has now will?atsch YDKSAB.
Toney would counter Joe to death. I just think it's a bad style for Joe to come up against; Toney was too slick.
If they were to compete in an impromptu cheesburger audit, Toney hands down. However, Calzaghe would thrash this overrated steroid cheat in a boxing match.
http://www.thefreelibrary.com/Calzaghe+runsout+of+fight+time.-a0126913939 Antwun Echols had been in negotiations with the Calzaghe camp, but it now appears the 33-year-old American was unable to agree a deal with ******. :smooch
