Calzaghe by comfortable points win. Toney might have a bit of success early, similar to Kessler against Calzaghe. JC quickly works him out, puts on a boxing display and and wins by 4 or 5.

calzaghe never fought anyone of toneys calibre. there is no evidence to suggest he copes.

he faced kessler only when he knew mik had one good arm, and then only with the welsh mafia in cardiff. and he barely beat 43 year old hopkins, rallying on gass alone to just take back a fight he was getting pasted in.

I didn't say he fights like Kessler, I just used Kessler as an example of someone that had success early against Calzaghe before being completely outboxed.

Calzaghe was a far far better boxer than Montell Griffin, and yet Griffin had Toney's number.

ah so what you are saying is if like kessle,r toney had one broken hand after round5 , then calzaghe would eventually catch up after round 5 and win.

yeh i go with that. since no way has calzaghe got better boxing skills than toney, no way no way. nmaanmaa.

Calzaghe's workrate alone is enough to beat Toney nevermind his skills and handspeed. This would look like Jones vs Toney.

JT had trouble with southpaws. Nunn made the mistake of not boxing in the later rounds and Reggie
Johnson lost by split decision. JT had trouble with boxers who were slick and offered movement with
loss to Jones and Montell Griffin giving him fits. Still remember JT being out boxed and out worked by
David Tiberi . ABC analyst at the time Alex Wallau called it the most disgusting decision he had ever
seen . Joe style all wrong for JT . Joe by unanimous decision.

Seeing this topic has just made me remember my dream from last night. I dreamt that I was trying to talk Joe into making a comeback to face Andre Ward. I was arguing against people who was calling Ward a masterful boxer when he really isn't. One of the most realistic dreams I've ever had.

you are basing toney losing to joe on toney winning twice over southpaws? bit logically reversed yeah?

or desperately unable to find an argument that works, so using one that doesnt and hoping noone notices?

Calzaghe is not Roy Jones. Toney was weight drained against Jones.
