JT's early aggression would make it that the early rounds are competitive. Passed the 6th round, all Calzaghe or close.

 

Bad matchup for Taylor. Gets stopped late on after losing all the rounds on the judges cards

 

Prime Taylor give Calzaghe an excellent fight probably losing a SD.

Calzaghe would hit him with 14,000 punches thru 11 rds. But none hard enough to do any damage so, in rd 12 Taylor would go down with 13 seconds left out of courtesy.

 

Calzaghe is a nightmare for a fighter whose biggest challenges is stamina and ring intelligence. Taylor would not have the speed advantage in this fight and speed clearly is his best asset, the one aspect of his game where he was superior to everyone he faced. What does he do against a fighter who throws punches non - stop AND is faster than him?

I would always give Taylor a better chance at beating Hopkins and Hopkins a better chance at beating Calzaghe because of styles.

JT's mental was damaged in the hopkins fight. he tried to build it back up, but never reached his truest potential and was desperate to prove himself. kellly just flat out killed the remaining portion of taylors confidence when he climbed of the canvas to deliver a brutal knock out. if taylor had won decisively, he would've been a much better fighter and has all the physical advantages over calzaghe with the exception of stamina and a chin that is decent but not solid. of course calzaghe couldn't expose his chin. and taylor is a much more offensive fighter than hopkins. he would've exchanged with calzaghe more frequently, landing harder shots more often.

 

We have absolutely every reason to believe that Calzaghe sets a pace that Taylor can't maintain and stops Taylor late. Taylor has stamina issues that have never been solved. I am a great Taylor fan, but this is a bad match for him.

 

Calzaghe would have easily beaten Taylor.Just a better fighter,period,just so many reasons.Stamina,chin,too much to go on.
