Thought it would be fun if the two most fanatical fanbases battled it out on this 'P4P fantasy warfare' match here that is considering if they both were in the same weight class and had the same style, attributes, proportions and all other factors considered.

Personally, I take Joe Calzaghe UD over a SMW version of Manny Pacquaio, Joe's a stylistic nightmare for him. Likewise, I'd take a SFW version of Joe Calzaghe over Manny Pacquaio by UD also.

Joe is not a hard puncher, Lacy took all his slaps for 12 rounds. Both will throw as many punches as each other and both are as fast though p4p Calzaghe is faster, pac more explosive but pac will hit harder. If Calzaghe decides to stay there to throw his slaps, he will get hit and thats not a good thing against Pac.

Calzaghes skill set is vastly superior to Pac Mans. He is faster p4p, a much better boxer and has a granite chin.

Pac would get badly outboxed and beaten up by the SFW or SMW versions of Calzaghe.

I think pac could get to joe, he would lose some rounds but still manage to get Joe on his ass two or three times, and would eventually win a decision.

What do you base this on? Kessler managed to score some rounds against joe and Kessler is alot slower than Pac and doesnt nearly throw as many punches. Pac's wildness would have Joe on the ropes. Dont forget, whilst Calzaghe has looked impressive against guys like Lacy, pac has done so with even more venom against the likes of MAB & Morales.

did you not read his post? he's not talking about 168 cal vs 130 pac. he was asking for a prediction if they naturally weighed the same.

Amsterdam, is this a cheeky, roundabout way of convincing the ESB community that Joe comes before Pacman in the p4p rankings?:nono

    Yeah my thoughts exactly.

Interesting points tho. I already have Calz above Pac in my rankings. I'd like to see Pac take on the best possible Prime opposition in Marquez and Guzman/Soto like Calz did with Lacy/Kessler before I start calling Pac p4p best.

Mayweather is gradually losing points with me, and anything less than a dominating performance over Hatton will drop him to 3 with me if Pac and Joe win their next fights.

I just think these kind of comparisons don't make sense...because there is no way of knowing exactly how each would fare at a very different weight - it's not like you take a film of Pacman and splice Joe into it, but make Pacman look bigger...I think, conceptually, this is a flawed enterprise...

At best, you could compare the style of one against the other's...but that's about it...

90% of the time I always pick the boxer over the brawler. Calzaghe by UD.

The version of Eric Morales that beat Pac the first time was not prime and the two versions that he beat the subsequent times were not the Morales that we once knew.

I give him full credit for beating a fighter like MAB the first time out! Major props. But i wasnt talking about who they had beaten.

I said their skill set. I.E what they could do in the ring.

The only advantage that i would think that manny would have would be in power.

At SMW Calzaghe throws more punchs than PAC does at SFW = work rate.

Meaning: relitive to other MW/SMW/LHW Calzaghe is much much faster.
PAC is not much faster than all other FW/SFW/LW

PAC whillst he is improving is nowhere near the boxer Calzaghe is he goes through people with aggression an pace and power.

Calzaghe has a GRANITE chin, so wouldnt be KO'd by PAC.

Joe Calzaghe would adapt to whatever PAC was doing and counter it beat him to the punch and beat him up.

    What do think?
